In The News This Week...So Far

Every day now there seems to be another addition to the continuing march toward war in the Middle-East. I am not alarmed! Hey, it's all been predicted....pre-written by God. What encourages me about the eventual fulfillment of the Gog and Magog War from Ezekiel 38 and 39 is that I wholeheartedly believe it will usher in the great Latter Rain spoken of by the prophet Joel. Wisdom tells us we should not be cowered down in fear, but be living with our hearts open for a flood of the Spirit of God. And REMEMBER, we are only passing through. Our loyalty is only to the Kingdom of God. Yes, I love my country, but my country is slipping away. The only thing that will last is the Kingdom.... Therefore, I pledge allegiance to the King....

Netanyahu gives a magnificent, moving speech to the United Nations...that after President Obama's self-deification before the same body. hmm

President Obama reveals the "newly-discovered" Qom nuclear site in Iran. Of course, it was then discovered that Obama has known about it for some time, including those days when people were losing their lives at the hands of Iran's radical regime. Obama said nothing about either during the post-Iranian-election uproar.

Obama threatens Iran with greater sanctions...then promptly boards Airforce One for Denmark. It was imperative that he be the first President to ever speak to the Olympic Site Selection Committee! How Awesome is He!

Iran responded to Obama's diplomatic threat by launching the new Sahab-3 missile successfully. Tipped with a nuclear warhead, the Sahab-3 could hit Israel......AND EASTERN EUROPE where there is no missile shield. $%^&*

French President Nicolas Sarkhozy calls President Obama and his view of the world NAIVE! Way to go Nick! You said what most of us are thinking...all in your own French way.

Afghanistan General has trouble getting a return call from the White House and goes on 60 Minutes to state his case. Uh-oh.... again...Obama went to Denmark.

1. A God exists who created and orders the world and watches over human life on earth.

2. God wants people to be good, nice, and fair to each other, as taught in the Bible and by most world religions.

3. The central goal of life is to be happy and to feel good about oneself.

4. God does not need to be particularly involved in one's life except when God is needed to resolve a problem.

5. Good people go to heaven when they die.

Israeli cries of "hold me back" may lead to Iran strike

In a succinct analysis, Haaretz's chief military correspondent examines to the pros and cons of Israel's strategic options vis-a-vis Iran. But the dynamic may leave the country with no choice.So far Israel has chosen the alternative - preventive diplomatic steps. Advocates of this approach say that it has succeeded in delaying the Iranian bomb by a few years at a low diplomatic and security cost to Israel. Yet its usefulness is gradually eroding as Iran gets closer to the bomb. Under these circumstances, Israel is trying to show that its patience is wearing thin. It is trying to persuade others that if "the world" does not act, it will embark on war against Iran on its own. To strengthen the credibility of the message "Hold me back," a strike force has been amassed while the military preparations are being reported in the foreign press with unprecedented frequency. The force buildup is also important for deterrent purposes in the event Iran obtains nuclear weapons, the Americans attack its nuclear installations and Israel bears the brunt of a counterattack.

Yet as the buildup continues, the temptation to use force grows. As Israel becomes more self-confident, its rhetoric escalates and the domestic pressure "to show them" - or as the prime minister likes to say, "not to come out suckers" in light of the infuriating, incendiary speeches of Iran's president - swells. This is the Iranian paradox: Creating an offensive option does not widen the government's room to maneuver. Rather, it narrows it while pushing Israel to abandon the preventive strategy and to attack.

In recent months, it seems Israel's preventive strategy is paying dividends. The Iranian regime has lost some of its strength following the rigged presidential election and subsequent repression of the opposition, while Obama has taken a tougher public stance against Iran. It is in Israel's interest to see both trends gain momentum - Iran's weakening and America's determination. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's challenge in the coming months will be to withstand the burgeoning pressures to attack Iran, keep his composure and not become frightened at his own speeches warning of "a second Holocaust" while adhering to the preventive strategy. This is the most effective way, one that will give incentive to the West to rein in the Iranians without risking harm to Israel.

Obama Tyring To Stop Israel, Not Iran

Too late to stop Tehran, Obama aims to stifle an Israeli attack

Maestro Barack Obama's histrionics in New York and Pittsburgh Thursday and Friday, Sept. 24-25 - and his threat of "confrontation" for Iran's concealment of its nuclear capabilities - were water off a duck's back for Tehran, whose nuclear weapons program has gone too far to stop by words or even sanctions. The Islamic regime only responded with more defiance, announcing that its second uranium enrichment plant near Qom would become operational soon.

The US president's tough words and willingness to step out of his axiomatic insistence on dialogue and turn to economic warfare against Iran may be impressive but it is no longer effective. Tehran is too close to its goal of a nuclear weapons capability to be deterred by offers of engagement or economic penalties.

Obama certainly knows this. He also understands that Iran is now unstoppable except by force. His performance was therefore directed at another target: Israel, whom he is determined to dissuade from resorting to military action against Iran's nuclear installations.
Defense secretary Robert Gates hit the nail on the head when he said Friday: "The reality is there is no military option that does anything more than buy time. The estimates are one to three years or so."

Iran was allowed to reach the point defined by Gates thanks to the permissiveness of two US presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton and two Israeli prime ministers, Ariel Sharon and Ehud Olmert. They had no illusions about the deterrent value of the three sets of UN Security sanctions imposed to punish Iran, but held back from pre-emptive action on the pretext that there was still plenty of time before Iran was in a position to destroy Israel.

In any case, Israeli leaders argued, Iran's nuclear ambitions were a threat to the whole world and it was therefore incumbent on the "international community" to take care of them.
This of course did not happen. Iran carried on exploiting international inaction, finally capitalizing on Obama's foot-dragging in his first nine months in office.

By now, Iran has used the gift of time to process enough enriched uranium to fuel two nuclear bombs and is able to produce another two per year. Its advanced medium-range missiles will be ready to deliver nuclear warheads by next year. Detonators for nuclear bombs are in production at two secret sites.

And finally, a second secret uranium enrichment plant - subject of the stern warning issued collectively in Pittsburgh Friday by Obama, French president Nicolas Sarkozy and British premier Gordon Brown - has come to light, buried under a mountain near Qom. Its discovery doubles - at least - all previous estimates of Iran's nuclear capabilities.

Caught red-handed yet again in massive deceit, the Iranian president Mahdmoud Ahmadinejad had only more defiance to offer. America owes his government an apology, he told interviewers in New York Friday, because the new plant would not be operational for 18 months, and Tehran had therefore not violated International Atomic Energy Agency rules requiring notification.
He was soon caught in another lie.

Saturday, the Iranian news agency was informed by an aide of supreme leader Ali Khamenei that "the new plant would become operational soon." Iran's published concealments and deceptions are disquieting enough. But a whole lot more are undoubtedly buried in fat intelligence dossiers on Iran's nuclear program - plutonium production, for instance. The progress made in its plutonium-based weapons program was never mentioned in the stern condemnations of the last few days, except indirectly in a quiet comment from an anonymous Israeli official Friday night.

He said Iran operates on two hourglasses and both were running out fast. He was referring obliquely to the enriched uranium and the plutonium tracks. Sarkozy was clearly thinking about those undiscovered Iranian secrets and evasions when he declared in Pittsburgh:
"Everything - everything must be put on the table now" (at the October 1 meeting of the Six Powers with Iranian negotiators). Obama too urged Iran "to come clean."
All the powers concerned - the US, Russia, France, Germany the UK and even China - have the same information as Israel and are fully aware that Iran has already crossed a number of red lines this year and will cross more in 2010. The more time allowed for diplomacy and engagement, the greater Tehran's defiance. Meanwhile, world powers will argue - not over futile sanctions, but on how to stop Israel, so wasting several more months.

DEBKAfile's sources note that the Gates assessment and the cooling note he injected into the US president's oratory came after Israeli defense minister Ehud Barak visited the Pentagon. The visit clearly did not change Gates' view that the Iranian nuclear program was now too advanced to stop, while the use of force would only gain an interval of up to three years, after which Tehran would pick itself up and start again. Therefore, according to Gates, diplomacy remained the only viable option.

The answer to this argument is simple: It is exactly this approach which gave Iran 11 quiet years to develop its weapons capacity. For Israel and Middle East, a three-year setback is a very long time, a security boon worth great risk, because a) It would be a happy respite from the dark clouds hanging over the country from Iran and also cut back Hamas and Hizballah terrorist capabilities, and b) In the volatile Middle East anything can happen in 36 months. But the US defense secretary believes Israel, like the rest of the world, must accept life under the shadow of a nuclear-armed Iran and make the best of it.

This view is shared by the Kremlin. It was advanced by prime minister Vladimir Putin to Binyamin Netanyahu during his secret trip to Moscow on Sept. 7. According to DEBKAfile's Russian sources, when the Israeli prime minister tried to counter Putin's thesis and explain what restraint meant for Israel, the Russian prime minster became impatient and told his guest to leave.

After that interview, the Israeli government can no longer avoid appreciating that Gates and Putin talk the real talk for Washington and Moscow, while their leaders' moralistic condemnations of Iran are mainly hot air for public consumption and for maneuvering Israel into a position where a military strike would be hard to conceive.

Netanyahu's Sphinx-like silence on the nuclear to-do in the US this week was apt. But it is hard to tell what he is hiding. Will he succumb to the world powers' pressure to sit tight while Iran goes all the way to a military nuclear capability - or face up to it and act?

This is the most important decision of Netanyahu's political life as two-time prime minister of Israel. It will also determine Israel's future.

Culmination to a Curse: Obama's Anti-Israeli Speech

Dateline: circa 3000 B.C.

"Now, the Lord said to Abram, 'Go from your country and your kindred and your father's house (in modern day Iraq) to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed. So Abram obeyed..."

With a mixture of grief, disgust, and anger, I have marked September 23, 2009 on my calendar as the "Day God Cursed America." I realize that may sound extreme. Some may call and attempt to talk me out of it, but I remain firm in my conviction that, up until yesterday, God's hand was still open with blessing. That hand closed, not because of the nations ills or sins, but because God keeps his word. (READ the above verse again.)

Yesterday, Sept. 23, 2009, before a General Assembly crammed with dictators, thugs, and globalists, the President of the United States gave the most self-absorbed, embarrassing speeches I have heard in my fifty years of existence. With arrogance and hubris, Barack Obama ceded America's position as the moral leader of the world. In one paragraph he offered up the good will and creativity of America's people on the altar of Climate Change. He furthered the transfer of sovereignty from the United States to the United Nations. But none of those horrors brought our nation into alignment with the curse. No, that happened when, with words as sweet as honey, Barack H. Obama dishonored the State of Israel....throwing the Jews and their existence under the speeding bus of thuggery and Islamic radicalism.

The following is the portion of Obama's speech to which I refer. My commentary will be inserted and will be italicized. As you read our President's ushering in of the curse, you will most likely experience all of the emotions I shared earlier. You will read it and weep, as it proper for anyone who loves this country. I begin.

"But our efforts to promote peace cannot be limited to defeating violent extremists. (Al Quaeda) For the most powerful weapon in our arsenal is the hope of human beings - the belief that the future belongs to those who build, not destroy; the confidence that conflicts can end, and a new day begin. (New Global Order with ME as PRESIDENT)

That is why we will strengthen our support for effective (U.N.) peacekeeping, while energizing our efforts to prevent conflicts before they take hold. (Preemptive policing by the U.N.) ......

I will also continue to seek a just and lasting peace (meaning the current state of affairs is unjust) between Israel, Palestine, and the Arab world. Yesterday, I had a constructive meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Abbas. (A photo op) We have made some progress. Palestinians have strengthened their efforts on security. Israelis have facilitated greater freedom of movement for the Palestinians. As a result of these efforts on both sides, the economy in the West Bank has begun to grow. But more progress is needed. (No one disagrees) We continue to call on Palestinians to end incitement against Israel, and we continue to emphasize that America does not accept the LEGITIMACY OF CONTINUED ISRAELI SETTLEMENTS. (Up until yesterday, the word was NEW ISRAELI SETTLEMENTS. In other words, the Israeli's must cease settling in the West Bank completely. No call for Arabs to cease settling in Israel proper or Jewish designated Jerusalem. Only the Jews must cease settlements.)

The time has come to re-launch negotiations - without PRECONDITIONS - (Obama no longer demands that the Arabs recognize Israel's right to exist, nor the right of Israel to defend itself against annihilation.) - that address the permanent-status issues: SECURITY for Israelis and Palestinians (Palestinians have a right to develop their own defense forces, fully armed), borders, (this gets worse in a moment), refugees (the right of return for Palestinians who left during the 1967 Six-Day war. Read article below for full scope of the problem), and Jerusalem. (In other words, Jerusalem must no longer be the Capitol of Israel. It must be divided.) The goal is clear: two states living side by side in peace and security -- a Jewish State of Israel, with true security for all Israelis; and a viable, independent Palestinian state with CONTIGUOUS territory (One, single peace of ground stretching from the West Bank to the Gaza Strip that would effectively divide Israel) that ends the occupation that began in 1967, (going back to the pre-1967 war borders leaving Israel with a 14 mile strip of land.) and realizes the potential of the Palestinian peoples. (Potential to unite and destroy the Jews once and for all. That is their stated goal.) As we pursue this goal, we will also pursue peace between Israel and Lebanon, Israel and Syria (Israel must give up the Golan Heights), and a broader peace between Israel and its many neighbors. In pursuit of that goal, we will develop regional initiatives (through the UN) with multilateral participation (peacekeeping coalition), alongside bilateral negotiations. (In other words, we will force Israel to the table!)

The United States does Israel no favors when we fail to couple an unwavering commitment to its security with an insistence that Israel respect the legitimate claims and rights of the Palestianians. (In other words, for any further assistance, you must give in to all my demands and a Palestinian State must come into being.) An nations within this body do the Palestinians no favors when they choose vitriolic attacks (attacks born out of bitterness over past injustices...meaning Israel has committed heinous acts that merit a response by freedom fighters) over a constructive willingness to recognize Israel's legitimacy, and its right to exist in peace and security."

Obama then went on to equate the three great faiths born in the Holy Land and ended by saying, "And that is why - even though there will be setbacks, and false starts, and tough days - I will not waiver in my pursuit of peace."

Our President, in one culminating speech, dishonored Israel and threatened its existence by fulling siding with the Arab world on the Palestinian issue! Oh, MY, GOD! He used the word PEACE nearly two dozen times and set a discourse for its pursuit. His version of peace is no peace for Israel. God's curse is released!

What will happen next?

Israel now fully understands that it is alone. Not only will America not come to its aid, America is now positioned as anti-semitic....anti-Israel....and pro-Arab. There can be no doubt. The Iranian threat grows larger by the day...and Israel will have to act alone. I believe we are within mere weeks, if not days, of an Israeli attack on Iran's nuclear production facilities. They have no choice. When that happens, the Arab world will unite like never before. Israel's existence will be threatened by Syria. Israel will destroy Damascus (Isa. 17). Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia will respond....and be destroyed by Israel (Psalm 83, Eze. 25:12-17). Then, the grand finale...the ultimate showdown between Jehovah and Allah....Russia, Turkey, the Sudan, Libya, Iran, and the Caucus states, will descend to the mountains of Israel in order to annihilate the Jews once and for all. But God will intervene. (Ezekiel 38-39)

Am I being alarmist? Maybe, but I also believe the warning must be sounded...loudly and clearly. Wake up! Get as close to Jesus as you possibly can. Forget about your citizenship in the United States of America. That country is no more! If you truly believe in Jesus Messiah, your citizenship is in the Kingdom. You are only passing through. It is not time to become fully loyal to the Kingdom.

When Did Anti-Zionism Become An International Issue?

For more than 20 years after the establishment of the State of Israel, anti-Zionism was a regional phenomenon - a conflict between Arab and Jewish national movements in the Middle East. In the Soviet Union and in Eastern Europe, the Soviets exploited antisemitism for political purposes, but it was seldom part of international debate until after the Six-Day War in 1967.
By the end of the 1960s, and since 1975, anti-Zionism became international in scope. It first appeared in the universities in the West where the New Left, in cooperation with Arab student associations, attacked Israeli policy. 1

When the United Nations General Assembly passed Resolution 3379 on November 10, 1975, and declared "Zionism is a form of racism and racial discrimination," it significantly expanded anti-Zionism into the sphere of international nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and therefore into Third World countries. This was accomplished in collaboration between the Arabs and the Soviet Union that endowed anti-Zionism with legitimacy and official recognition.2

After the First World War, the Arabs expected Greater Syria - which included Palestine and Lebanon - to become a vast, united, and sovereign Arab empire. Instead, the French and the British divided the area into what the Arabs considered "irrationally carved out" entities that became the present-day states of Saudi Arabia, Syria, Trans-Jordan (later Jordan), Iraq, and Israel. The Arabs were outraged that a "non-Arab embryo state in Palestine" had been inserted into an area where it would never be accepted. They claimed that this shattered their dreams of unification and impeded their search for a common identity. 3

The fight against a Jewish homeland became an integral part of their struggle "for dignity and independence." Israel's existence, they claimed, "implied that not only a part of the Arab patrimony, but also parts of Islam, had been stolen. For a Moslem, there was no greater shame than for that to happen." The only way to eliminate this deeply felt affront - this "symbol of everything that had dominated them in the past" - was to rid the area of "imperialist domination." 4

Zionism has been branded as the official enemy of the Arab national movement, but Arab governments have long been accused of using the Arab-Israeli confrontation to divert attention from their own critical domestic social and economic problems. When confronted, they respond that if this were not a real concern, it would not resonate so strongly among the Arab masses. 5

Bernard Lewis, professor emeritus at Princeton University, the dean of Middle Eastern scholars in the West, says Arab fixation with Israel "is the licensed grievance. In countries where people are becoming increasingly angry and frustrated at all the difficulties under which they live - the poverty, unemployment, oppression - having a grievance which they can express freely is an enormous psychological advantage." 6

The Israeli-Arab conflict is the only local political grievance that can be openly discussed. If the population were permitted freedom of speech, Lewis believes that the obsession with Israel would become far less important. Like most people, Arabs are concerned about their own priorities. For the Palestinian Arabs, who view themselves as the permanent victims, the main issue is their struggle with Israel. If Arabs in other countries were permitted to focus on their own problems, they would do so. 7

For Arabs, the attempt to blame Western imperialism is nothing more than an excuse to attack Israel, as another Hebrew University professor Jacob Talmon asserted: "For decades the Arabs have been obsessed by memories of past glories and prophecies of future greatness, mocked by the injury and shame of having an alien and despised race injected into the nerve center of their promised pan-Arab empire, between its Asian and African halves, just at a time when the colonial powers had started their great retreat from their colonial possessions in Asia and Africa." 8

To lessen their feelings of shame for losing every war against Israel, the Arabs attributed the success of Jewish settlement in Palestine and the Israeli military triumphs of 1948 and 1956 to Western imperialism. As the representative of the Great Powers, Israel became the Arabs' scapegoat whenever they became frustrated in their attempt to transcend "centuries of social, economic, and cultural development, and catch up" with the West.

This anti-Israel fixation precipitated a methodical "Manichean metaphysic, the focus of an entire philosophy of history, with the Jew as the devil incarnate from the days of patriarch Abraham himself till his assumption of the role of the linchpin of an American-Imperialist-Zionist world-plot against the Arab world, the Socialist Commonwealth and all colonial peoples." 9

The crushing defeat of the Arabs in the 1967 Six-Day War shattered this fantasy and accentuated Arab humiliation, since the Israelis won without the backing of any imperialist nations. Arab rage was exacerbated by the casualty rates in Israel's favor -- about 25 to 1 -- and by the number of prisoners of war Israel captured. At least 5,000 Egyptian soldiers, including 21 generals, 365 Syrians (30 of whom were officers), and 550 Jordanians were taken. Only 15 Israelis were held as POWs. Arab military hardware losses were in the billions of dollars -- most of it coming from Soviet Bloc countries.10

Civilian casualties were minimal: Israelis estimate that 175,000 Arab noncombatants fled the West Bank to Jordan; Jordanians claim that number is 250,000. Though the Israelis did not initiate the Arab exodus, they did not attempt to stop it. The refugees were not encouraged to return, but Moshe Dayan, Israel's Minister of Defense, stopped the practice of preventing them from crossing back to the West Bank a week after the war, after observing ambushes and concluding that they were inhumane.11

Israelis wanted to resolve the 1948 and 1967 refugee problem -- to be determined when a comprehensive peace agreement would be negotiated. The Arabs rejected the offer and insisted that the refugees be allowed to return, unconditionally, and receive compensation. Yet, in the summer of 1967, when Israel agreed to allow Arabs to come back to the West Bank, only a handful returned.12

At the same time, the Arabs persecuted and tormented their own Jewish residents. Jews were attacked in Yemen, Lebanon, Tunisia, and Morocco. Synagogues were burned and Jews were arrested and detained. In Damascus and Baghdad, Jewish leaders were fined and imprisoned, and 7,000 Jews were expelled after their property and most of their belongings were confiscated. Eight hundred of Egypt's 4,000 Jews were arrested, including the chief rabbis of Cairo and Alexandria. The UN and the Red Cross did nothing to intervene on their behalf.13

Despite this treatment of Jews in Arab lands, the 1.2 million Arabs under Israeli governance did not experience any systematic mistreatment. Looting and vandalism were reported in some areas, but the Israelis repaired whatever damage they found. Though Jordanians had destroyed synagogues in the Old City of Jerusalem and used the tombstones from the Jewish cemeteries on the Mount of Olives to pave roads and use in latrines, Moshe Dayan participated in the Friday prayers at the al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. Perhaps the greatest trauma for the Arabs was that Israel had conquered 42,000 square miles - and was now three-and-a-half times larger in size than before the war. 14

Anti-Zionism entered the international scene when Israel and Egypt reached political rapprochement after the Yom Kippur War by signing an interim agreement on September 1, 1975. That agreement emphasized, "The conflict between them and in the Middle East shall not be resolved by military force but by peaceful means."15

Concerned that this might lead to peace, the Soviets, Syria, and the PLO tried to exclude Israel from international nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), like UNESCO, "for having transgressed the United Nations Charter, and having failed to adopt its resolutions." When this strategy failed, they began to question Israel's legitimacy and discredit and condemn Zionism in the UN, and to internationalize their propaganda against her.16

An Added Temptation Perhaps?

I spoke recently with an F-15 Eagle combat ace and instructor for the 9th Air Force about the differences in capabilities between the Israelis and other Mid-East air forces. He laughed saying that the pilots of the Arab/Iranian/Jordanian/Syrian/Egyptian/etc., forces had a deep level of ineptitude. They believe that faith overrides skill. They are certain Allah will give them the victory. The Israelis, on the other hand, are jocks. They fly close-in with no fear. Their skill level, though not quite up to the Americans, is far superior to that of their counterparts. That is why no Israeli F-15 or F-16 has never been lost in combat!

With an attack against Iran's nuclear production facilities looming, I found this article in the Debka Files quite interesting. Will Iran's ineptitude be an added temptation for Israel to forgo the OBAMA attempt at kissy-face diplomacy? Makes me wonder, especially since the latest version of Russian Anti-Aircraft Missiles are not yet in place in Iran. hmm Read on and chuckle.

Iran loses its only AWACS as Ahmadinejad threatens the world

Up above a big military parade in Tehran on Tuesday, Sept. 22, as Iranian president declared Iran's armed forces would "chop off the hands" of any power daring to attack his country, two air force jets collided in mid-air. One was Iran's only airborne warning and control system (AWACS) for coordinating long-distance aerial operations, DEBKAfile's military and Iranian sources disclose.

The proud military parade, which included a march-past, a line of Shehab-3 missiles and an air force fly-past, was planned to give Ahmadinejad a dazzling send-off for New York and add steel to his UN Assembly speech Wednesday.

Dubbed "Simorgh" (a flying creature of Iranian fable which performs wonders in mid-flight), the AWACS' appearance, escorted by fighter jets, was to have been the climax for the Iranian Air force's fly-past over the parade. Instead, it collided with one of escorting planes, a US-made F-5E, and both crashed to the ground in flames. All seven crewmen were killed.

Eye witnesses reported that the flaming planes landed on the mausoleum burial site of the Islamic revolution's founder Ruhollah Khomeini, a national shrine. According to Western observers, no distress signals came from either cockpit indicating that the collision and explosions were sudden and fast.

DEBKAfile's military sources say the disaster was a serious blow to the Iranian Air Force not long after its first and only AWACS went into service in April 2008. It was a renovated version of the Russian Ilyushin 76, part of Saddam Hussein's air force before it was transferred to Iran in 1991 during the first Gulf War.

Tehran hired Russian technicians to carry out renovations and install up-to-date radar. At the launching ceremony of the upgraded AWACS, Air Force commander Brig. Gen. Ahmad Miqani boasted its new radar systems were made in Iran and able to spot any airplane or missile at a distance of 1,000 kilometers from Iran's borders.

The loss of this airborne control system has left Iran's air force and air and missile defenses without "electronic eyes" for surveillance of the skies around its borders.

That very thing took place this weekend with former President of the United States abjectly stated that any opposition to Obamacare is the equivalency of racism. Brzezinski: US Should Down IAF Jets

Former national security adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski has urged US President Barack Obama to make it clear that if the IAF tries to launch an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities via Iraqi airspace, the US Air Force will shoot down the Israeli jets.


"We are not exactly impotent little babies," Brzezinski told The Daily Beast in an interview published Sunday. "They have to fly over our airspace in Iraq. Are we just going to sit there and watch? ... We have to be serious about denying them that right. That means a denial where you aren't just saying it. If they fly over, you go up and confront them. They have the choice of turning back or not. No one wishes for this but it could be a 'Liberty' in reverse."

The USS Liberty was a US Navy technical research ship accidentally struck by the IAF on the fourth day of the Six Day War, after being misidentified as an Egyptian warship.
Brzezinski, who was former president Jimmy Carter's national security adviser, endorsed Barack Obama's presidential campaign. However, he has no role in the current administration.

Last week I posted a blog describing how many believe Obama is forcing Israel's hand, moving them toward a confrontation with Israel. In the wake of that fear comes another layer of horror...the United States shooting Israeli jets from the sky. What a insidious development this would be if it proves to be true! I cannot describe the disgust I am feeling at this moment!

Obama Demotes Israel in his Priority List

President Obama again does the polar opposite of what he should be doing. In a sweeping move this week he reneged on an agreement put in place by the Bush Administration, that of developing a anti-missile shield to protect our Eastern European allies. Instead, our President has opted to place a sea-based missile shield for the protection of Israel and, of all places, Azerbaijan.

However, it now appears that Israel has been demoted on Obama's priority list. This makes any development of a defensive missile system highly unlikely, if not improbable. In a period of three days, our President has betrayed our Eastern European friends, made a promise to protect Israel, and then betrayed that promise.

The United Nations Security Council gathering looms on September 22nd. Obama will try his hand at chairing that meeting....imagine the rhetoric that will spew. Most of the substance he will bring to the table will be in the form of photo-ops. However, it seems that his main line of protecting and defending the Constitution, and our allies, will be to once again attempt to bargain away something of ours to the Russians in hopes they will help us out on the Iranian issue.

Friends, that help will not come. There are too many agreements already established between Russia and Iran. It is the Russians who have footed the bill for Iran's nuclear ambitions. It is Russia that has warned the world repeatedly that it will not support sanctions. Worse, both Medvedev and Putin have stated on multiple occasions that any military attack on Iran will be met by Russian wrath. Why? Partly because a full 40% of Russian Military Forces are Muslim. But we must also remember that God is beginning to set a hook.

It is our responsibility to continue to pray. How?

1. We are to pray for our leaders, whether we agree with them or not. That prayer should be for wisdom and spiritual awakening so that we can leave Godly and peaceful lives.

2. We must be praying for both the Jews, and the Muslims. It will only be a spiritual awakening to the claims of Jesus Messiah that will actually transform lives.

3. As Jerusalem, according the the Bible, is the center of the world, we must be praying for its peace. That doesn't mean we reject the Palestinian Arabs. It simply means we must pray for Divine protection.

4. The prophecies of at least two rounds of attack against Israel (see earlier blogs) are marching toward fulfillment. Within the passage of Ezekiel 38 and 39 is an indication that the Lord will make himself known to the whole world as he defeats Israel's enemies. In other words, the greatest day of evangelism in the history of the Church is right before us. STAND STRONG PRAY HARD LIVE BOLDLY SPEAK THE TRUTH IN LOVE SHOW THE LOVE OF JESUS IN EVERYTHING YOU DO!.....

5. Watch and pray! Stay tuned without fear or foreboding.

More Signs of Impending Confrontation

EVENTS FROM THIS WEEK....

President Obama's special envoy to the Middle East, former Senator George Mitchell, left Tel Aviv with no settlement agreement in hand. Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, suggests that Washington is beginning to learn that Israel will make no compromises when it comes to its national survival.

Russian Prime Minister, Vladimir Putin, catagorically warns that any sanctions levied against Iran will be a grave mistake. He further warned that Russia would not stand idly by in the extreme case that Iran's nuclear facilities are attacked.

In a bold step of stupidity, President Obama betrays Eastern European nations by scrapping the Bush era missile defense shield. It appears Madam Clinton was attempting to appease the Soviets, errr, Russians into siding with the United States on the Iranian issue. Russia laughed, Eastern Europe woke up, and the Obama/Clinton team rubbed eggs all over themselves. (I apologize for the sarcasm, but I am having a difficult time tolerating fools.)

The State Department once again warned Honduras that its ousted President must be returned to office even though he clearly broke the Honduran Constitution in attempting to call for an amendment that would allow him to stay in power....just like his buddy Hugo Chavez in Venezuela. The ouster took place exactly according to the democratically mandated Honduran Constitution. How did Washington respond?...by giving a diplomatic visa to the the former President's foreign minister who under the Bush Administration was labeled a terrorist. Obama also cut off all foreign and humanitarian aid to Honduras. (Kinda fits what's happening in Washington doesn't it.)

In an attempt to coerce Israel into agreeing with the Obama Administrations demand to cease and remove LEGAL settlements of Jews in the West Bank, the White Hose (purposely misspelled) said today that the unworkable defense shield scheduled for Eastern Europe will now be established for Israel and Azerbaijan. What? I thought that didn't work!

YESTERDAY, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad confirmed his intention to destroy Israel. Read the following from The Associated Press and Reuters

Ahmadinejad: Confronting Israel is a national duty

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Friday the Holocaust was a "lie" and a pretext to create a Jewish state that Iranians had a religious duty to confront. "The pretext (Holocaust) for the creation of the Zionist regime (Israel) is false ... It is a lie based on an unprovable and mythical claim," he told worshippers at Tehran University at the end of annual anti-Israel Quds Day rally. "Confronting the Zionist regime is a national and religious duty," the Iranian president said.

Ahmadinejad's critics say his fiery anti-Western speeches and questioning of the Holocaust have isolated Iran, which is at odds with the West over its disputed nuclear program. The hard-line president warned leaders of Western-allied Arab and Muslim countries about dealing with Israel. "This regime [Israel] will not last long. Do not tie your fate to it?. This regime has no future. Its life has come to an end," he said in the speech broadcasted live on state radio. On Firday, tens of thousands of Iranian government supporters and dozens of opposition activists poured out onto the streets of Tehran for coinciding marches marking an annual pro-Palestinian commemoration. Baton-totting police and security troops, along with the pro-government Basij militia that helped crush mass street protests this summer against Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's re-election, were deployed along main squares and boulevards but the rallies kicked off peacefully. Ahmadinejad joined one of the government-sponsored marches heading to the Tehran University campus where he was to address supporters before a Friday prayers service.

Distant Thunder is the first book in The Lightening Chronicles with the promise of more engrossing stories to follow. I, personally, love stories based upon prophetic beliefs and ideas. I find it incredibly interesting to take an idea that has been tossed around for centuries and turn it into an almost true-to-life occurrence, such as Jimmy Root Jr. does here in Distant Thunder.

I found myself quickly and immediately absorbed within the pages and story of Distant Thunder. This is a story that will take the collection of "what-if" questions that flow through people's minds and bring them to life. I greatly enjoyed the author's style of writing and the way he is able to breathe realism into his characters and situations, placing the reader within the pages of the book.With the constant threat of terrorism, mother nature, and so many widespread catastrophes, one is often left to wonder if those long ago prophecies may be heading toward truth.

Distant Thunder takes the biblical prophecies and puts them in a light of current times with a non-stop, heart-pounding thriller that is sure to leave the reader up late into the night, flying through pages. Once the final page is turned, eagerness will consume, knowing that a new installment will be on it's way soon.I highly recommend this excellent book and cannot wait for the next in the Lightening Chronicles!

The Alignment is Forming and We're on the WRONG SIDE

The Ezekiel 38-39 alignment of nations has practically gone public over the last two days. The Obama administration has insisted on a kissy-face meeting with Iran, while Vladimir Putin of Russia has made it clear: Russia will not go along with sanctions, nor will it tolerate a military strike by Israel against Iran.

Benjamin Netanyahu made a secret trip to Moscow seeking at least some Russian concession on the sale of Anti-Aircraft missile to Iran. He walked away like he'd been kicked in the seat of the pants. Where is Obama? He is in Minneapolis with his sleeves rolled up so he wouldn't get TEA spilled all over his shirt. (TEA PARTY in WASHINGTON). He is distracting the country with Obamacare and we are missing the realities of the world...and the danger. Well done Mr. President!

Meanwhile, Iran is thumbing its nose at the US attempt to be nice. Why? Because they fear no threat from America, and actually invite an Israeli attack against their nuclear sites. An attack allows them the possibility of rallying the Muslim world in an all-out cataclysmic event that will bring back their precious Mahdi. Events are picking up pace. US submission to Iran's evasions spurs international pressure against Israeli military strike

The US will join other major powers in seeking an early meeting with Iran although Tehran's refusal to discuss its nuclear program was described by Washington officials as "disappointing." They said the Obama administration is consistent in its aim of dialogue with Iran and wants the meeting offered by Tehran to take place as soon as possible to assess Iran's readiness to deal with the nuclear issue ahead of the Six-Power discussions taking place later this month on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

Far from meeting the Obama administration's gesture halfway, Iran's new defense minister Ahmed Wahidi delivered a fierce attack on Washington Saturday, Sept. 12, warning the US "not to try the militarize the region" and denying the production of weapons of mass destruction as "contrary to our religion and principles."

DEBKAfile's Washington sources say the Obama White House is relying on the public's short memory on Iran's prevarications. On July 20, 2008, the six powers including the US confronted Iran at the negotiating table in Geneva. Iran's nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili listened quietly to the Bush administration's undersecretary of state William Burns' words on its nuclear activities, then announced he was not competent to respond and would refer to Tehran for instructions. Jalili never did come back with his government's response.

After Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stated loud and clear last week that the nuclear file was closed for Tehran, the Iranian negotiators will no doubt repeat this exercise which had the effect of tying US hands for more than a year and will keep them tied for several more months. Whatever the outcome, it is no good Washington relying on tough new sanctions because that door has been shut by Moscow and Beijing's published intention to block them.
The former commander of the big Israeli air base at Hatezerim, Brig. (ret.) Shelly Guttman, said Saturday that for the first time since the Yom Kippur War, Israel faces an existential threat. Nevertheless, Russia and France are leading an internatonal drive to stall military action as well.
Thursday, Sept. 10, Russian prime minister Vladimir Putin warned against the use of force or new sanctions against Iran, the toughest caution Israel has heard so far. Neither course will "solve the problem," said the Russian leader.

The caution from Moscow followed frantic consultations in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv in the last week for a decision on whether Israel should resort to its military option for pre-empting the rise of a nuclear-armed Iran already on the threshold, according to US intelligence agencies. Our Moscow sources say the Russians may be expected to keep up their verbal pressure on Jerusalem.

Putin was supported from Paris the same day, when France released the opinion offered by French army chief Gen. Jean-Louis Georgelin in Washington that military force to wipe out Iran's nuclear program "was no longer viable."

While Putin explained his objections to military action as: "Russia has no reason to doubt that Iran's nuclear program is purely peaceful," the French general argued: "It is very difficult to plan a military operation in Iran, because we are not sure in one shot to be able to solve a problem."

Why Obama's Muslim Strategy Won't Work

The Doctrine of the Mahdi

People have swallowed the fly! They have believed the lie that is being propagated by the elites, and our President. The LIE….That we can somehow talk nicely and get along with our Muslim brothers. What is missed is what is at the heart of Islamic radicalism, especially for serious Shi’ite believers like Mahmoud Ahmadinijad.

According to Shi’ite tradition, twelve Imams descended directly from Muhammad the prophet, specifically through his cousin and son-in-law Ali Ibn Abi Talib. They were supposedly endowed with divine qualities that enabled them to lead the Shi’ite believers into true Islam. They functioned as Allah’s emissaries on earth.

However, when the Twelfth Imam, Muhammad Al-Mahdi disappeared down a well in 941 A.D., his connection with Shia believers was broken. Since then, the Shi’ites like Ahmadinijad have awaited expectantly for the Mahdi’s return.

In the meantime, Shia senior clerics, the Ayatollahs, are considered to be the representatives of the Imams, and thus have the authority to handle the affairs of the community. They rule, especially in the spheres of religious interpretation and jurisprudence. They will do so until the Hidden Imam (Mahdi) returns to deliver the Muslims from their suffering. That suffering includes putting up with the remaining infidels.

According to Shi’ite belief, during the period of the Mahdi’s absence, only Allah knows the hour of his return, and no man can presume to foresee that hour. However, upon the Mahdi’s return, all wrongs will be righted, divine justice will be instated, and the truth of Shia Islam will be acknowledged by the entire world.

From the establishment of the Islamic Regime in 1979, to Ahmadinejad’s rise to power in 2005, Mahdism had been a religious doctrine that held no political manifestation. But the Ayatollah Khomeini dept the doctrine of the Mahdi on the periphery of the political sphere. It was very similar to Jimmy Carter’s claim of being Born Again, yet not allowing it to influence his governing.

After Khomeini’s death in 1989, Mahdism declined in Iran, that is until the surprise election of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in 2005. The current Iranian President is a Mahdi fanatic, believing that his rise to power is in direct correlation to the soon return of the Muslim Messiah. His philosophy is stated in many ways. “The greatest obligation of those awaiting the appearance of the Mahdi is fighting heresy and global arrogance.” That global arrogance flows directly from the West, specifically the United States.

Ahmadinejad firmly believes that all non-believers have no alternative but “perdition and destruction. Those who do not respond to the call to proceed toward the truth—a good destiny does not await them.” His nuclear policies are built on the foundation that all who reject true Islam must be punished, and he is the instrument of that punishment. In his own terms, Ahmadinejad firmly believes he has been called to prepare the ground for the Mahdi’s return and that he has the right to utilize nuclear power in order to do so.

Ahmadinejad’s mentor, Ayatollah Mohammad Taqi Mesbah-e Yazdi clearly states the radicalism-driven expectation of the Mahdi’s return and how it is to be achieved. “Implementing the laws of Islam, establishing justice and fighting heresy and oppression are the most important duties for those who await the return of the Hidden Imam and prepare for his coming…We must enhance religious faith and the power of religion in Iran and in the entire world….In order to hasten the coming of the Hidden Imam, we must disseminate justice and religious law, in order to increase the public’s awareness of them throughout the world so that the Shi’ite faith will be accepted by society everywhere….Our noblest duty is to strive to reduce oppression, to be more stringent in our implementation of Islamic law and to weaken the control of oppressive and tyrannical regimes over the oppressed. (The U.S. and Israel) These actions can hasten the return of the Hidden Imam…If we wish to expedite the Mahdi’s coming, we must remove any obstacles delaying his return. We must eliminate the Western power over the oppressed throughout the world, both Muslim and non-Muslim. This is what we must do to prepare the ground for Mahdi’s coming. Thus, the greatest obligation of those awaiting the appearance of the Mahdi is fighting heresy and global arrogance.”

Wrapped up in Mahdism is the goal of eliminating the West and the Jews. Ahmadinejad, and fellow radicals, believe that the struggle to do so will involve a cataclysmic event beyond human imagination. The United States (Christianity) will be destroyed and the Jews (Sons of Isaac) will be annihilated. In the middle of that great cataclysm, Mahdi will return and exact vengeance on all infidels, establish an Islamic world, and put down all pretenders, including Jesus Christ.

As Mahdism allows no compromise, it matters not that the current occupant of the White House desires to play nice with Iran concerning its nuclear ambitions. They miss the point that everything radical Islam does is wrapped up in religious dominance. Mahdism will stop at nothing less than a faithful ushering in of a cataclysm.

That being said, if Iran is allowed to complete its nuclear ambition to build a launchable weapon, they WILL USE IT!

What is coming next? I believe President Obama has so clouded the minds of Americans with his push for socialist-driven Obamacare that most are no longer paying attention to the imminent threat coming from Iran. Israel will be the one that takes the first hit if Iran develops nuclear weapons. They will be the ones who will have to pre-emptively deal with those who seek Israel’s annihilation. Obama has already stated that the US will not help Israel, and in fact, has done everything possible to tie Israel’s hands in the matter. But, the threat will cause Israel to act. From there…

Hizbollah and Syria Stir the Pot

While Barack Obama bats his eyes in rapid fashion against the natural expansion of Israeli settlements in the West Bank, Iran continues to be unthwarted in the pursuit to manufacture a nuclear bomb. Not only that, but developments are taking shape that lead us to focus on prophetic fulfillment.

Many prophecy buffs believe that before Ezekiel 38 and 39 can come to completion, another war must first take place. I lean toward the same position when it comes to Psalm 83 and Isaiah 17. I call it the first of two compressions, groups of nation that will unite to attack Israel.

The first compression is an inner ring of nations, all worshipping Allah, who refute Israel's right to exist to one degree or another. According to Psalm 83, those nations include: Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the Gaza Strip. Israel will feel a definite threat, perhaps as a result of an IAF attack on Iran's nuclear facilities. Perhaps something else. These nations will eventually be destroyed by Israel according to Ezekiel 25, Jeremiah 12, Isaiah 17, and Obadiah 15-18. A sense of security will be the result, thereby offering the outer ring of nations found in Ezekiel 38-39 to form a plan and attack. God will do the destroying at that point.

How close are we?

Only God knows, but there are indications that we are moving rapidly toward the first stage compression. First, something must be done about Iran and its nearing nuclear capability. The world knows it. Israel knows it. Only Obama misses the fact. Second, Syria is exacerbating the treat against Israel again. READ the following from the Debka Files.

Hizballah deploys chemical and biological weapons near Israeli border - Arab, European sources

The Kuwaiti daily Al-Siyassa reported Thursday, Sept. 3, that chemical weapons were stored in the hidden Hizballah arms warehouse which blew up at Hirbet Salim near the Israeli border in mid-July. Of the 11 Hizballah operatives killed in the blast, 3 died of chemical poisoning. Hizballah denied any members had been killed or even that it maintains a weapons store in breach of UN resolutions.


DEBKAfile disclosed at the time that the Lebanese terrorists had lost five men and more were missing.


On July 21, we reported that the explosion heard on both sides of the border refuted Israeli military claims that the Lebanese border was secure and revealed that the destroyed arms dump was one of 35 Hizballah had lined up within 20 kilometers from the border.


European intelligence sources reported on Sept. 1, that Hizballah had recently boosted its military capabilities with a supply of chemical shells and short-range missiles with chemical warheads and was about to receive biological weapons as well. One source said that the Lebanese terrorist group is now one of the most sophisticated and best trained military forces in the Middle East, describing them as "bad guys with good strategic vision."

The source quoted an Arab official as predicting that Hizballah is gearing up "for something big" and there is little doubt that Iran and Syria will be helping them to obtain biological and chemical weapons.


"You're going to be reporting a lot on Hizballah in the future," he said. "They already have people on the ground in Europe and elsewhere. They are just waiting for orders to act - they are not in a hurry."


Those WMD have already been delivered, according to al Siyassa. DEBKAfile's military sources add that deliveries began some time ago. In the 2006 war in which Israel fought Hizballah, chemical defense systems were discovered in the Lebanese group's bunkers and observation posts.

Concern of Israeli Attack on Iran Increases

Wake Up Obama, and Smell the Uranium Laced Coffee in Iran

So reports the Wall Street Journal that Obama will either have to seriously crack down on Iran, or witness an Israeli bombardment of the Islamic dictatorship with all its consequences.


The Journal, touted as the most important conservative newspaper in America, also said that a military conflict with Iran will be inevitable if the West doesn’t act quickly to neutralize Iran’s nuclear threat. The paper accuses the Obama Administration of investing more energy in trying to warn Israel against attacking than warning Iran to stop what it’s doing immediately.
“They can also see that the West lacks the will to do anything, as the Obama Administration continues to plead for Tehran to negotiate even as Iran holds show trials of opposition leaders and journalists for saying the recent reelection of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was fraudulent. The irony is that the weaker the West and UN appear, the more probable an Israeli attack becomes,” said the editorial.


It looks like someone’s waking up. Hopefully it won’t be too late. As much as I want Iran’s nuclear program wiped out, I’d much prefer it be done by massive, organized, and absolutely crippling sanctions rather than Israeli planes. Though the world’s stomach and seeming unwillingness to stand up for the lives of Jews (and, in effect, their own) leads me to believe we’re on our own. The Wall Street Journal smells it, too, which is why they’ve warned Obama that the implications of such an Israeli attack wouldn’t be too great for American interests, especially in the decline the country is currently in.


The editorial understands one very simple thing that Obama might not yet comprehend. It is this: “The reality that Western leaders don’t want to admit is that preventing Iran from getting the bomb is an Israeli national imperative, not a mere policy choice. That’s a view shared across Israel’s political spectrum.”


Let’s hope they get it before we’ve got to take matters into our own hands.

The Smiling Demagogue of the Age

"A man may smile, and smile, and be a villain," wrote Shakespeare in Hamlet. That is even truer today, in the age of mass media, when demagogues can be elected president on the strength of their nice smiles and sucker-tailored sales pitches.






Every age gets the demagogues it deserves. The Nineties had Bill Clinton, the first Boomer socialist to become President of the United States, with Hillary as an extra added attraction. Bill was proclaimed "a really good liar" by a fellow Democrat politician, Bob Kerrey. Two years later, enough voters were shocked by the Clinton White House to elect the first Republican Congress in forty years. Bill Clinton ended up with Monica kneeling on the floor of the Oval Office, DNA tests on the blue dress, and Bill finally becoming the first US president to be impeached since Andrew Johnson.






Then we had Al Gore, the most corrupt Nobel Peace Prize winner in the history of that dubious award. The media mob needed another distraction, another hero to worship. So they built up Barack Obama (Demagogue, Chicago). For our sins.






Haven't we seen this soap opera before? Obama's numbers are crashing right now for exactly the same reason that Hillary and Bill went down in 1993. The Demagogues can't stop themselves from grabbing more and more power, so eventually they expose themselves for who they really are. But they are truly, deeply dangerous to this country and to the world -- because it's not just our own skins that are at stake here. America is the world's cop, and once we go down, who's going to protect the weak and self-indulgent democracies of this dangerous world?






American democracy is teetering on the edge, and has been ever since the Clintons got elected in 1992. So far we've been lucky -- but not smart. Millions of empty-headed voters fell for the Clintons twice in a row, suckered by the media and a pair of sleazocrats. Last year they did it again. At some point America's luck is going to run out.






It might happen in the next few weeks, when Obama and the Demagogues mount another Blitzkrieg to gain control over one-sixth of the US economy. Even if we squeak by that one, the voters seem to have a death wish to elect even more demagogues as soon as they get hoisted on the shoulders of the media mob. It can't last; at some point we will end up like Europe, with a completely phony democracy run by a permanent Ruling Class. The Kennedys are an example of that; they have run a consistent fraud since JFK got the Pulitzer Prize for a book he didn't write. It's just Machine Politics with the media in the bag to the politicians. If this whole country follows Massachusetts, we will become another France or Russia. The Left will become our permanent power elite, which has been their goal since Karl Marx in 1848. They now control our education system and colleges, they run the Big Media, but they have an endless need for more and more power. They can never get enough of it. Only American voters stand in their way.






We now know what Barack Obama was doing during those 20 years of sitting at the feet of Jeremiah Wright. He was learning the craft of the demagogue. A mob agitator like Wright whips up the worst in people: Envy, rage, slander, phony piety, greed, false pride. Everything he says is a lie. The skill of demagogy is in plotting and delivering the most effective lie. Obama learned well.






A mob agitator -- aka "community organizer" -- is the very essence of demagogy. Think of the Obama election campaign, which was totally phony from beginning to end, with the media in full-throated mob cry. All of Obama's personal heroes were demagogues. Lenin was a famous one. Karl Marx was, too. All the Communist heroes of the past were mob agitators, because they figured out how to appeal to the most ignorant, the most alienated, the angriest and most resentful, the most easily cowed and intimidated, and the most hate-filled sections of the population. Fear and hatred are the working clay for demagogues. Hitler, needless to say, was a world-class demagogue. The Dixiecrats were skilled demagogues. Mob leaders always are.






Barack Obama has been a model demagogue so far. He is now whipping up the mob against American insurance companies. He started with the car companies, the banks, any industry that uses oil and coal, big business, small business, and practically any other productive enterprise in America. The goal is to suck the biggest amount of juice out of productive enterprises. There's nothing new there. It's just the same things anti-Semitic demagogues used on Alinsky's own family in Russia. Obama's slick racial demagogy is just a return to the Dixiecrats. That's why old Klan Kleagle Robert Byrd has been a Great Liberal Senator for decades. He just flipped enemies, and kept doing exactly the same thing.






Obama will undoubtedly go on being a demagogue, because all his personal heroes rose to power that way. Any criticism of the 1000-page Centralized Medicine bill in the House is taken to be a personal attack on the man himself -- and if you criticize the man, you must be a racist hater. This is the very lowest level of human discourse. Obama himself is thin-skinned, manipulative and intolerant. A couple of weeks ago the White House started to push the line that the rising tide of criticism is a threat to Obama's life. That could be an insight: The Left may experience free speech as murderous, because they secretly know their idol is hollow and made of clay. The solution is more free speech.






Jeremiah Wright is a classic lynch-mob leader. Just remember his voice rising to a scream in "God Daaaaaammmnnn America!" There's your demagogue. The most important thing about Wright, however, is the even bigger roars of approval from his audience, when he delivers another hate-Whitey zinger. It's the mob response that makes the demagogue.
And there was Barack Obama sitting in the front pew every Sunday for twenty years taking notes. Nothing could be more revealing.






Louis Farrakhan, another close ally in Chicago, is a big, dangerous demagogue with a strong sadistic touch. So is Father Pfleger. Saul Alinsky, Obama's mentor and model, was a demagogue and a mentor of demagogues. Nancy Pelosi called Centralized Medicine critics "un-American" -- a classic demagogue move. Harry Reid labeled the critics "evil-mongers." It's all just "a high-tech lynching," as Clarence Thomas called his persecutors. Clarence Thomas has lived long enough to remember both the Dixiecrats demagogues and the neo-Dixiecrats we see today.






But the most cynical manipulators today run the media. The Washington Post made up the new racial insult "macaca" and hung it around George Allen neck. Allen didn't know what it meant. George said Macaca was just a term his African born mom used to admonish her kid's disruptive behavior. Such a man is unlikely to have allowed the use of the term macaca in his home if he had any notion of its being racist. George Allen is a good and decent man. The WaPo just sleaze-bombed his senatorial campaign with its slanderous and demagogic attacks until at the end nobody could see the real man anymore. That was deliberately destructive of a man: All for the sake of another Demagogue seat in the Senate. There has never been worse media abuse in American history, because there has never been a bigger ideological monopoly.






In the last eight years the demagogues of the media whipped up lynch-mob hatred for George W. Bush, who devoted his whole presidency to making the American people safe from terror attacks. It was amazingly sleazy. The Leftist media are filled with demagogues, all trying to out-do each other. It is their specialty.






Free speech is the only protection we have. The Demagogues attack freedom of speech because they can't tolerate criticism. In his eight years in the White House George W. Bush never tried to control the Internet. Today, Obama is trying to do it.






I'm pessimistic. Even if we survive this dangerous man Obama and his mob followers, the voters are risking the end of America as a democratic nation. We're trying to be Evil Knievil, jumping our motorbike over bigger and bigger obstacles. Knievel's luck didn't last, and neither will ours. It can't, in the long run.






Americans who believe in this country and its Constitution are constantly playing catch-up. Maybe we'll find another Ronald Reagan and win another Cold War against the totalitarian Left. Maybe another Margaret Thatcher and Pope John Paul are waiting in the wings. But just hoping for luck and more bloopers on the Left does not add up to a winning strategy.






Somehow we need to build for the future as well as the Founders did. Today's situation is just as dangerous as it was in the worst days of the Cold War. This is Valley Forge and Gettysburg, the Battle of Midway and the Cuban Missile Crisis. The Greeks lost Athenian democracy and the Romans lost their Republic. Today the Brits have lost their sovereignty as a nation, and their electoral rights as a people. British Conservatives today are not the heirs of Margaret Thatcher. They are flabby losers.






We need to build a better and stronger conservative tradition. America is not immune to the power grabbers. We're constantly teetering on the edge.
