More Show for Unlikely Action

This is an important development. However, until I see the president actually order a strike against Iran's nuclear facilities, this is only a show. How well have sanctions worked in the past, especially watered-down sanctions? CUBA.....enough said!

Debkafile is reporting that Washington has posted a third carrier opposite Iran's shores.
It is supported by amphibious assault ships and up to 4,000 Navy and Marine Corps personnel, bringing the total US strength in these waters to three carriers and 10,000 combat personnel. The USS Nassau (LHA-4) Amphibious Ready Group 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, tasked with supporting the Bahrain-based 5th Fleet area of operations, is cruising around the Bab al-Mandeb Straits where the Gulf of Aden flows into the Red Sea. Its presence there accounts for Tehran announcing Sunday, June 27 that its "aid ship for Gaza" had been called off, for fear an American military boarding party would intercept the vessel and search it. This would be permissible under the latest UN sanctions punishing the Islamic Republic for its nuclear program.
The third US carrier group to reach waters around Iran consists of three vessels:
1. The USS Nassau Amphibious Assault ship is not just an enormous landing craft for the 3,000 Marines aboard; its decks carry 6 vertical take-off AV-HB Harrier attack plans; four AH-1W Super Cobra, twelve CH-46 Sea Knight and CH-53 Sea Stallion helicopters, as well choppers convertible to fast V-22 Osprey airplanes capable of landing in any conditions. This vast warship has 1,400 cabinets for sleeping the entire Marine-24th Marine Expeditionary Unit aboard.
2. The amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde which carries 800 Marines equipped for instantaneous landing.
3. The amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland which carries 400 Marines and 102 commandos trained for special operations behind enemy lines.
On a personal note: The conflict in the Middle East has already touched the lives of most Americans. Someone we know, someone within our family tree, has been deployed, fought, been injured, or possibly gave their life in Iraq or Afghanistan in the protection of our freedom. My family has, and is feeling the angst of the war. This weekend, my wife and I traveled half way across the country so that we could visit our son-in-law before being deployed the second time to Afghanistan. Our daughter has lived the majority of the past two years without her husband present. Now, another six to nine month deployment looms within the week.
When I speak of the coming battle prophesied in the Bible, I do not speak as someone who relishes the idea of war. I am simply stating the facts. War is not God's design, but due to man's sin...injustice....and tyranny....war is an affliction that must be faced head-on.
Sadly, the current leadership sees the wars that are being waged as political tools...a way to win friends and influence people. Rather than applying the full strength and wrath of our armed forces to win these wars, our leadership has decided to try to be the nice guy. This strategy isn't working...nor will it ever be successful.
When God fights a battle, or places his hand of inspiration on a nation as his tool, his might is overwhelming. The victory is won decisively! All know it was God who acted. America has been blessed with a strong military in order to defend God-given rights and freedoms. We should do nothing less than what God has demonstrated....that is....fight with all our might, do it quickly, bring tyranny and godlessness to justice, and be done with it.
Playing around with sanctions and half measures only wastes the precious blood of young American men and women.
Shame be upon our leadership!
