Obama Bans "Islam", "jihad" from US Security Lexicon

President Barack Hussein Obama's advisers are scurrying to remove terms such as "Islamic extremism" and "jihad" from the central document outlining US national security strategy. The rewritten document will emphasize that the United States does not view Muslim nations through the lens of terror, counterterrorism officials said, even when the overwhelming majority of terror acts are carried out by Muslims.

The change turns on its head the National Security Strategy, a document that reflecting the Bush Doctrine of preventive war and currently states: "The struggle against militant Islamic radicalism is the great ideological conflict of the early years of the 21st century."

President Obama sees things very differently. The officials described the changes on condition of anonymity because the document still was being written, and the White House refused to discuss it.

The revisions are part of a larger effort, one which the White House discusses openly, that seeks to sweep under the carpet Muslim involvement in acts of terror worldwide and focuses instead on health care, science, business and education.

In his speech in Cairo, Egypt, Obama promised a "new beginning" in the relationship between the United States and the Muslim world. The White House believes the previous administration based that relationship entirely on fighting terror and winning the war of ideas. Obama believes that acceptance of Islam and submission to its principles is a better basis for winning acceptance by Muslims. That and bowing to their royals and dictators.

"You take a country where the overwhelming majority are not going to become terrorists, and you go in and say, 'We're building you a hospital so you don't become terrorists.' That doesn't make much sense," said National Security Council staffer Pradeep Ramamurthy. It makes more sense to change the subject, the White House hopes: "If you want to become terrorists, that's fine, but let's not talk about it. Let's discuss instead health and education."
It really is amazing how things are shaping up. Stay tuned for Obama's new Middle East Initiative to be unveiled soon. It is being developed by Zbigniew Brzezinski and Brent Scowcroft, two of the most anti-Semitic/anti-Israel national security advisers America has ever had. I don't wonder how that will turn out.
