The Prophetic Word is Still Alive

The EXTREME Duel
OpEds verses God's Word
I took the time to read an OpEd today from the Jerusalem Post. I read them most days, or at least scan them trying to see what the Israeli mindset might be. Just so you know, the spectrum of political ideology is just as ranging in Israel as it is in America. You'll find neo-conservative voices living in fear of annihilation and stating the fact. You'll read folks who are conservative...desiring Israeli security, but also ready to find some sort of peaceful existence with their neighbors. Moderates and liberals abound, as do neo-liberals who loath Zionism and believe the restoration of Israel has only led to heartache and trouble. Sounds like the good ole USA.
One particular article today was decrying the rise of modern day prophets. In the words of the author, these prophets are false because "the day of prophecy is over." His take on the various voices is understandable. But one thing he has missed, as do all secularists. If the day of prophecy is over....there is absolutely NO HOPE for Israel. Without the anchor point of the Abrahamic Covenant and how it will shape the future, Israel will be wiped off the map simply because of overwhelming numbers. I'm not only talking about the populations surrounding Israel, but the overwhelming anti-Israeli bent that exists in 2010.
Yet, God is not offended by the secular Jew and his way of thinking. Rather, he sent his prophets to broadcast the current mindset, but in so doing, he left us with prophetic truth that cannot be ignored. Maybe the writer of the article is right....maybe there are no longer any Jeremiahs, or Ezekiels, or Zechariahs, but the power of their prophecies did not die.
One sure word that makes an extreme prophecy to Israel is this... Amos 9:15 "I will plant them in THEIR land, and they SHALL NEVER AGAIN BE UPROOTED out of the land that I have given them, says the Lord your God."
Maybe the secularist can't say it himself, so I'll say it for him..... AMEN!
