A Widening Rift in Middle East

So, the plot thickens.....or maybe WIDENS. What could be pushing Turkey further into the Iranian camp? Is it radicalism? Is it due to supposed Israeli injustice toward the Palestinians? Is it the failed policies of an inept American president? Is it all of the above?
Great questions, all. But the point was missed completely. The downward spiraling saga of Middle East politics is not due to any of the above mentioned causes or gripes. How easily we forget that God is not only in control, HE IS THE MASTER MANIPULATOR! The grand difference between his instigation's and the manipulative movements of the enemy is this... God does not lie! There is no darkness or deception in him or his actions. What do I mean? I mean, this was all prophesied. God forewarned the world...especially the lovers of his Word...that this was all going to take place. The spiral towards God's imminent judgment cannot be stopped...unless an entire block of nations REPENTS and turns to God. (See book of Jonah for details on this type of occurrence!) Even so, God is not slow concerning his promises as some would suggest, but he is patient, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Sounds like scripture to me. Will the gathering nations repent? I believe the answer is NO, but the possibility still exists that people within those nations will come to Jesus Christ. That is what we should be praying for, and working for, and longing for...right along with the Peace of Jerusalem. (This is not necessarily a lack of conflict...but the Peace of Jerusalem is "The PRINCE of PEACE" who will set up his throne in Jerusalem.)
Proof that the Turkey/Israel rift is widening is found in the following article. READ on oh faithful follower.

Turkish ultimatum to Israel plunges ties deeper in crisis
DEBKAfile Exclusive Analysis
January 13, 2010, 4:18 PM (GMT+02:00)

Turkey's president Abdullah Gul, not satisfied with Israel's statement over the diplomatic incident between them, warned Wednesday, Jan, 13, that unless a full apology was forthcoming from Jerusalem by day's end, the Turkish ambassador would be recalled. In another slap to Jerusalem, Ankara shortened Israeli defense minister Ehud Barak's visit to Ankara next week from its scheduled three days to four hours, confining it to talks with Turkey's defense minister and chief of staff and cancelling meetings with political figures.
Until now, president Gul stood apart from prime minister Tayyep Recip Erdogan's anti-Israel rhetoric. By adding his voice to Erdogan's, he has deepened the crisis in relations between the two governments.
Tuesday, DEBKAfile reported:
Israel's leaders, and some of its military and security chiefs, refuse to recognize that it is no good expecting Turkish prime minister Tayyep Recep Erdogan and president Abdullah Gul to stay friends with Israel while eagerly rushing into the arms of the radical anti-West Ahmadinejad, Assad and Chavez.
The latest spat between Ankara and Jerusalem, generated by this week's pointless diplomatic tit-for-tat, originated in this ostrich-in-the-sand attitude. Erdogan's provocative anti-Israel comments certainly go down well in Tehran. However, Israel's foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman saw red and instructed his deputy Danny Ayalon to summon the Turkish ambassador for a dressing-down. Ayalon foolishly thought that showing the envoy to TV cameras seated lower than his Israel hosts would put Ankara in its place.
This pointless exercise could have been avoided had the Israeli government recognized that the good old times of close strategic and military friendship with Turkey were over and Turkey was operating on a different plane.
Jerusalem's fond illusion is shared by the Obama administration which too refuses to accept that the Erdogan regime has divorced itself from the pro-Western bloc of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and Israel and plunged headlong into the new "Northern Islamic Alliance" club, alongside Iran, the Lebanese Hizballah and the Palestinian extremist Hamas.
