Radical Isalm's Hand in Egyptian Turmoil

Do not be fooled, as it appears is happening to the US Administration. What is happening in Egypt is not a move toward democracy. Sure, many of the protesters are idealistic enough to believe that ousting the dictator, Mubarak, will lead to democratic government.
Even our naive-to-the-Middle-East president has called for a transition to a government that is represented by all religious and secular factions. This is not only foolish, it is blind!. Radical Islam i.e. the Muslim Brotherhood (which boasts of such characters as Osama bin Laden, Al-Zawahiri, Sheik Mohammad, and many others) is ready to step in and place Egypt in the radical column.
The intent of the Muslim Brotherhood is well documented, and in regards to what this blog is all about, the destruction of Israel and annihilation of the Jews is at the top of the list. While we worry about oil, or having Muslims feel good about us, radicalism is taking over. The following is an example....an interview between Sean Hannity and Sheik Anjem Choudary. Sean quickly gets to the truth of the matter.

A Muslim cleric Wednesday said Egypt will be ruled by Sharia law and eventually the United States – and the whole world – will fall to radical Islam. In a heated interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, Sheik Anjem Choudary also called for the destruction of Israel, saying the Jewish state needs to be “repelled” for what it has done to Muslims.

“Sharia will come and it will remove the corruption of democracy, and freedom, and all of your exploitation,” Choudary said. “You are worried because you know Islam is coming to your backyard.”

After hedging his answers on several question about his beliefs, Hannity vehemently asked Choudary to be specific about al-Qaida and Osama bin Laden.

“You said you were on Osama bin Laden’s side: Three thousand Americans were slaughtered on 9-11, you support this man. I am asking you, do you think the people responsible for that are going to go to meet Allah in heaven and get 72 virgins?” Hannity asked. “It’s a simple – you’re supposed to be a lawyer and you’re not particularly bright – It’s a simple question: Do they get the virgins or not sir?

Choudary retorted, detailing U.S. actions in Iraq. Hannity would have none of it.

“The point is, you are radical, murder-supporting fascist, and you want [your ways] to be spread to the rest of the world,” Hannity said.

Hannity then asked if Choudary would like to see Israel’s destruction.

“When you occupy someone’s land, and you steal their resources, and you kill innocent, men, women, and children, then of course that needs to be repelled,” Choudary replied. “Every Muslim knows that Israel is occupying Muslim land. This is Muslim land that has been stolen – and it will be revived.”

What we are seeing is the fulfillment of Psalm 83 in progress. Why are we shocked? Have we lost our belief that we are literally at the doorstep of the long prophesied last days? You can read through my blogs to find out what it is all about, but simply put, Egypt (Hagrites in Psa. 83) will join a group of nations that border Israel in a coalition designed to destroy the Jews. The other nations involved are Lebanon (now controlled by Hizbollah), Syria, Jordan (Moab and Edom), Gaza (controlled by Hamas), and at least part of Saudi Arabia (Ishmael). These inner ring nations will join to attack Israel. According to Isaiah 17, Damascus Syria will be destroyed overnight, and in Ezekiel 25, a parallel passage, God says "I will destroy them by the hand of my people Israel."

This is what is coming. The wildfire of protests across the Middle East could be the beginning of radical Islam's complete takeover of the inner ring nations.

I encourage you to pray for Christian brothers and sisters in these nations, for they are being persecuted tremendously. I encourage you to pray for a mighty move of God in order to bring about the salvation of as many Muslims as possible. Time is winding down quickly.

Next Round of Concessions Coming Up

Once again, the push for peace is on, and Israel is the entity expected to make the concessions.
It's the same 'ole-same-'ole....another verse of the same song and dance. Obama tries to halt his falling approval rating by playing nice with Israel, but actually continues to apply the pressure for Israel to concede, and then concede some more.

Arutz Sheva News reports on Benjamin Netanyahu's ABC interview.
Interviewer George Stephanopoulos began the talk by noting the very warm and friendly reception Mr. and Mrs. Netanyahu received from U.S. President Barack Obama and his wife. He then asked, "What concrete steps are you prepared to take" to advance the peace process with the Palestinian Authority?
Netanyahu mentioned three areas in which Israel has come towards the PA, saying Israel has "done quite a bit in relaxing hundreds of roadblocks and checkpoints," as well as "I've talked about my vision of peace of a demilitarized Palestinian state that recognizes the Jewish State of Israel." The third item was the freeze: "We adopted a moratorium seven months ago for the Palestinians to enter the talks. They haven't so far done that."
I admit I am disgusted. Again, the Palestinians are not pushed to the simplest concession of recognizing the right of Israel to exist and have security. They can bomb, fire rockets, attempt flotillas, and generally wreck havoc and get away with it as the victimized party. However, I am also well aware that this is the direction in which events will flow. Why? Okay, hang on to your hat....here's a radically Biblical worldview surfacing.... "Because it is written!" In fact, Joel 3 tells us that the dividing of the land will lead directly down the road to Armageddon. When will that happen? Only God knows.
What I do know is this: The president is not nearly as smart as he thinks he is. If so, he would have actually read what he claims to follow...The BIBLE. He does not comprehend the reality. The nations that bless Israel will be blessed. The nations that curse and turn on Israel will be cursed and turned on by God. Since Obama's Muslim-loving speech in Cairo last year, how many disasters, catastrophes, floods, economic woes, and more have occurred? How many more will occur?
Sure, we can attribute these things to the natural occurrences of nature and happenstance. Sure, you can call me a religious nut case! Yes, disasters have always happened. But could there be a pattern and increase to the bad stuff? Is it possible that the hand of God is being withdrawn from our nation....even though we just witnessed a sweet photo-op? Could the path our leadership has chosen (in direct disregard to the majority of Americans who support the State of Israel) be leading us farther and farther from the protective, prosperous hand of God?
I leave you to decide. I have pretty much come to one particular conclusion and am praying that someone in a big, white house will wake up to the truth and start following it.
In the meantime, I pray for the peace of Jerusalem, not its division to people who will then seek to obtain the other half as well. Nothing like radical Islam to throw a wrench in the peace project of Barrack Obama. (Of course, he cannot admit it even exists.)

On the Brink

What was once a west-leaning, European craving, modernized, moderate Islamic state is quickly converting into a Arab/Sharia dominated, radically Islamofacist, caliphate.....kind of like the old Ottoman Empire. Turkey is reverting to its roots! Israel is to the the enemy, not a friend. Biblically speaking, (Ezekiel 38 and 39) the situation is only going to worsen.

Israel and Turkey head for the Brink
Posted by Israel Insider on June 18, 2010

Turkey and Israel have taken steps that redefine their relationship as antagonist heading for the brink of war.
Turkey froze sixteen bilateral agreement and denied Israel the use of its airspace. It vowed to lead an international effort to apply a worldwide boycott and sanctions against Israel.
Israel, for its part, declared Turkey's group Islamic IHH (Insani Yardim Vakfi) -- which enjoys close relations with Erdogan and his ruling party -- to be a terror organization on a par with al-Qaeda. By listing as terrorists the IHH , a key component of Erdogan's pro-Islamic AKK government's support system, Israel defines the group as a target for its covert and military operations and exposes its leaders to retaliation for continuing violence against the Jewish state.
In Washington, early Thursday morning (June 17), Democratic and Republican members of Congress announced at a press conference that there would be price to pay if Ankara continued its hate campaign against Israel and tight ties with Tehran. Rep. Mike Pence, the third-highest ranking Republican, said: "There will be a cost if Turkey stays on its present heading of growing closer to Iran and more antagonistic to the state of Israel. While the House and the Senate are getting ready for an active response against Turkey for its deteriorating relations with Israel, the Obama administration is doing nothing to oppose it. The most prominent member of the pro-Erdogan faction ion the White House is the president's personal adviser on Muslim affairs, Dalia Mogahed, who opposes the labeling of IHH as a terrorist organization, DebkaFile reports.
IHH activists were responsible for the violence aboard the Turkish ship leading the blockade-busting flotilla on May 31. Wednesday, IHH headquarters in Istanbul scheduled the launch of an even bigger flotilla for Gaza some time in July. Its new designation empowers Israel's covert agencies and navy to go for its members and ships - at sea and in Turkish ports.
Still hesitant, Israel has started hitting back at Turkey by escalating its military and intelligence responses to Erdogan's provocations. The day before, the level of confrontation was ramped up by several notches in Ankara, when the Turkish Defense Industry Implementation Committee – SSIK, in a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Erdogan, decided to freeze 16 security and military agreements signed with Israel.
They include permission for Israel warplanes to use Turkish airspace and apply to intelligence-sharing arrangements and cooperation in combating terrorism and suspend the longstanding, close military and intelligence cooperation between Turkey and Israel.
The two erstwhile allies are left glaring at each other as antagonists, just one step short of declared enemies.

Pro-Islamic Obama

US Joins Pro-Muslim 'Alliance of Civilizations'

The Obama administration has announced the United States will join the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, another openly anti-Israel organization. The group was created in 2006 to find ways to bridge the growing divide between Muslim and Western societies – a goal wholeheartedly embraced by President Barack Obama, who has redirected American foreign policy in pursuit of the same goal.

The White House announcement stated that the move is intended to realize Obama's “vision of active U.S. engagement with other nations and international organizations,” a goal sometimes pursued, noted National Review Online columnist Brett D. Schaefer last Thursday, “even when there is little or no chance that doing so will advance U.S. interests.”

The U.S. decision is also meant to support the Alliance goal of “improved understanding and cooperative relations among nations and peoples,” the statement said.

However, the Alliance has been anything but cooperative when it comes to improving understanding of issues relating to the security of Israel's and United States' civilians.

The group claimed in its first report in 2006 that global tensions were driven primarily by the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. The same report referred to “a perception among Muslim societies of unjust aggression stemming from the West” in a discussion relating to the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States by the international Al Qaeda terrorist group.

The US feared the organization would be Anti-Israel - in 2006
At the time, the U.S. boycotted the group, expressing concerns that it would become a forum for bashing both Israel and the United States, in a manner similar to that of the U.N. Human Rights Council. However, Obama administration officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said those concerns have since been addressed.

Since Obama took office a year ago, he has worked hard to reach out to the Islamic community of nations in a series of gestures that make it clear he is bending over backwards to strengthen ties with the Muslim world.

Since his speech from Cairo last June, Obama has reached out to Iran and Syria, restoring full diplomatic relations with Damascus and returning an ambassador to the Syrian capital. The U.S. has also joined the anti-Israel U.N. Human Rights Commission. Both these moves are reversals of prior Bush administration decisions. Though not surprising, they are definitely signs of the the times....times that are winding down quite rapidly.

The Threat of Islam

I found this piece by Daniel Pipes to be quite interesting, especially in light of the way Hamas took over the Gaza Strip by way of democratic election. Pipes is an OpEd Columnist for the Jerusalem Post and provides valuable insight into Islam's two-tracked way of thinking and acting.
Islamism 2.0 - An Even Greater Threat
By Daniel Pipes

To borrow a computer term, if Ayatollah Khomeini, Osama bin Laden, and Nidal Hasan represent Islamism 1.0, Recep Tayyip Erdogan (the prime minister of Turkey), Tariq Ramadan (a Swiss intellectual), and Keith Ellison (a US congressman) represent Islamism 2.0. The former kill more people but the latter pose a greater threat to Western civilization.
The 1.0 version attacks those perceived as obstructing its goal of a society ruled by a global caliphate and totally regulated by Shari'a (Islamic law). Islamism's original tactics, from totalitarian rule to mega-terrorism, encompass unlimited brutality. Three thousand dead in one attack? Bin Laden's search for atomic weaponry suggests the murderous toll could be a hundred or even a thousand times larger.
However, a review of the past three decades, since Islamism became a significant political force, finds that violence alone rarely works. Survivors of terrorism rarely capitulate to radical Islam - not after the assassination of Anwar Sadat in Egypt in 1981, nor the 9/11 attacks, the Bali bombings of 2002, the Madrid bombing of 2004, the Amman bombing of 2005, or the terrorist campaigns in Israel, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. Terrorism does physical damage and kills and intimidates but it rarely overturns the existing order. Imagine Islamists had caused the devastation of Hurricane Katrina or the 2004 tsunami - what could these have lastingly achieved?
NON-TERRORIST violence aimed at applying Shari'a does hardly better. Revolution (meaning, a wide-scale social revolt) took Islamists to power in just one place at one time - Iran in 1978-79. Likewise, a coup d'état (a military overthrow) carried them to power just once - Sudan in 1989. Same for civil war - Afghanistan in 1996.
If the violence of Islamism 1.0 rarely succeeds in forwarding the Shari'a, the Islamism 2.0 strategy of working through the system does better. Islamists, adept at winning public opinion, represent the main opposition force in Muslim-majority countries such as Morocco, Egypt, Lebanon, and Kuwait. Islamists have enjoyed electoral success in Algeria in 1992, Bangladesh in 2001, Turkey in 2002, and Iraq in 2005.
Once in power, they can move the country toward Shari'a. As Mahmoud Ahmadinejad faces the wrath of Iranian street demonstrators and bin Laden cowers in a cave, Erdogan basks in public approval, remakes the Republic of Turkey, and offers an enticing model for Islamists worldwide.

Recognizing this pattern, al-Qaida's once-leading theorist has publicly repudiated terrorism and adopted political means. Sayyid Imam al-Sharif (b. 1950, also known by the nom de guerre Dr. Fadl) was accused of helping assassinate Sadat. In 1988, he published a book that argued for perpetual, violent jihad against the West. With time, however, Sharif observed the inutility of violent attacks and instead advocated a strategy of infiltrating the state and influencing society.
In a recent book, he condemned the use of force against Muslims ("Every drop of blood that was shed or is being shed in Afghanistan and Iraq is the responsibility of bin Laden and Zawahiri and their followers") and even against non-Muslims (9/11 was counterproductive, for "what good is it if you destroy one of your enemy's buildings, and he destroys one of your countries? What good is it if you kill one of his people, and he kills a thousand of yours?").
Sharif's evolution from theorist of terrorism to advocate of lawful transformation echoes a much broader shift; accordingly, as author Lawrence Wright notes, his defection poses a "terrible threat" to al-Qaida. Other once-violent Islamist organizations in Algeria, Egypt, and Syria have recognized the potential of lawful Islamism and largely renounced violence. One also sees a parallel shift in Western countries; Ramadan and Ellison represent a burgeoning trend.
(What one might call Islamism 1.5 - a combination of hard and soft means, of external and internal approaches - also works. It involves lawful Islamists softening up the enemy, then violent elements seizing power. The Hamas takeover of Gaza proved that such a combination can work: win elections in 2006, then stage a violent insurrection in 2007. Similar processes are possibly underway in Pakistan. The United Kingdom might be undergoing the opposite process, whereby violence creates a political opening.)
In conclusion, only Islamists, not fascists or communists, have gone well beyond crude force to win public support and develop a 2.0 version. Because this aspect of Islamism undermines traditional values and destroys freedoms, it may threaten civilized life even more than does 1.0's brutality.

Israeli Insight Into Turkey's Turn Away From the West

How Turkey was Lost
By CAROLINE GLICK

Once the apotheosis of a pro-Western, dependable Muslim democracy, this week Turkey officially left the Western alliance and became a full member of the Iranian axis.

It isn't that Ankara's behavior changed fundamentally in recent days. There is nothing new in its massive hostility toward Israel and its effusive solicitousness toward the likes of Syria and Hamas. Since the Islamist AKP party first won control over the Turkish government in the 2002 elections, led by AKP chairman Recip Tayyip Erdogan, the Turks have incrementally and inexorably moved the formerly pro-Western Muslim democracy into the radical Islamist camp populated by the likes of Iran, Syria, Hizbullah, al-Qaida and Hamas.

What made Turkey's behavior this week different from its behavior in recent months and years is that its attacks were concentrated, unequivocal and undeniable for everyone outside of Israel's scandalously imbecilic and flagellant media.

Until this week, both Israel and the US were quick to make excuses for Ankara. When in 2003 the AKP-dominated Turkish parliament prohibited US forces from invading Iraq through Kurdistan, the US blamed itself. Rather than get angry at Turkey, the Bush administration argued that its senior officials had played the diplomatic game poorly.

In February 2006, when Erdogan became the first international figure to host Hamas leaders on an official state visit after the jihadist group won the Palestinian elections, Jerusalem sought to explain away his diplomatic aggression. Israeli leaders claimed that Erdogan's red carpet treatment for mass murderers who seek the physical destruction of Israel was not due to any inherent hostility on the part of the AKP regime toward Israel. Rather, it was argued that Ankara simply supported democracy and that the AKP, as a formerly outlawed Islamist party, felt an affinity toward Hamas as a Muslim underdog.

Jerusalem made similar excuses for Ankara when during the 2006 war with Hizbullah Turkey turned a blind eye to Iranian weapons convoys to Lebanon that traversed Turkey; when Turkey sided with Hamas against Israel during Operation Cast Lead, and called among other things for Israel to be expelled from the UN; and when Erdogan caused a diplomatic incident this past January by castigating President Shimon Peres during a joint appearance at the Davos conference. So, too, Turkey's open support for Iran's nuclear weapons program and its galloping trade with Teheran and Damascus, as well as its embrace of al-Qaida financiers have elicited nothing more than grumbles from Israel and America.

Initially, this week Israel sought to continue its policy of making excuses for Turkish aggression against it. On Sunday, after Turkey disinvited the IAF from the Anatolian Eagle joint air exercise with Turkey and NATO, senior officials like Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon and opposition leader Tzipi Livni tried to make light of the incident, claiming that Turkey remains Israel's strategic ally.

But Turkey wasted no time in making fools of them. On Monday, 11 Turkish government ministers descended on Syria to sign a pile of cooperation agreements with Iran's Arab lackey. The Foreign Ministry didn't even have a chance to write apologetic talking points explaining that brazen move before Syria announced it was entering a military alliance with Turkey and would be holding a joint military exercise with the Turkish military. Speechless in the wake of Turkey's move to hold military maneuvers with its enemy just two days after it canceled joint training with Israel, Jerusalem could think of no mitigating explanation for the move.

Tuesday was characterized by escalating verbal assaults on the Jewish state. First Erdogan renewed his libelous allegations that Israel deliberately killed children in Gaza. Then he called on Turks to learn how to make money like Jews do.

Erdogan's anti-Israel and anti-Semitic blows were followed on Tuesday evening by Turkey's government-controlled TRT1 television network's launch of a new prime-time series portraying IDF soldiers as baby- and little girl-killers who force Palestinian women to deliver stillborn babies at roadblocks and line up groups of Palestinians against walls to execute them by firing squad.

The TRT1 broadcast forced Israel's hand. Late on Tuesday, the Foreign Ministry announced it was launching an official protest with the Turkish Embassy. Unfortunately, it was unclear who would be coming to the Foreign Ministry to receive the demarche, since Turkey hasn't had an ambassador in Israel for three weeks.

TURKEY'S BREAK with the West; its decisive rupture with Israel and its opposition to the US in Iraq and Iran was predictable. Militant Islam of the AKP variety has been enjoying growing popularity and support throughout Turkey for many years. The endemic corruption of Turkey's traditional secular leaders increased the Islamists' popularity. Given this domestic Turkish reality, it is possible that Erdogan and his fellow Islamists' rise to power was simply a matter of time.

But even if the AKP's rise to power was eminently predictable, its ability to consolidate its control over just about every organ of governance in Turkey as well as what was once a thriving free press, and change completely Turkey's strategic posture in just seven years was far from inevitable. For these accomplishments the AKP owes a debt of gratitude to both the Bush and Obama administrations, as well as to the EU.

The Bush administration ignored the warnings of secular Turkish leaders in the country's media, military and diplomatic corps that Erdogan was a wolf in sheep's clothing. Rather than pay attention to his past attempts to undermine Turkey's secular, pro-Western character and treat him with a modicum of suspicion, after the AKP electoral victory in 2002 the Bush administration upheld the AKP and Erdogan as paragons of Islamist moderation and proof positive that the US and the West have no problem with political Islam. Erdogan's softly peddled but remorselessly consolidated Islamism was embraced by senior American officials intent on reducing democracy to a synonym for elections rather than acknowledging that democracy is only meaningful as a system of laws and practices that engender liberal egalitarianism.
