A Weak Obama is Sarkozy's Gain in Middle East

You can see that developments are happening daily in the ongoing saga of the Middle East. Why? God calls Jerusalem the Center of the Universe. Israel is the apple of his eyes. I imagine that has something to do with the flurry of activity taking place. One can easily run out of breath trying to chase events.

Recently, I have been pinpointing events that specifically point to the fulfillment of prophecy concerning two, key wars that are fast approaching. While I will not re-hash all the ins and outs (see earlier blogs) it is difficult to use any other lens in understanding what is going on, at least for me. The Psalm 83 "Inner Ring," those nations bordering Israel that occupy the land promised to Abraham, are rapidly coalescing. All they need is some trigger event that will solidify their unity and bring about an attack or extreme threat against Israel. Meanwhile, the Ezekiel 38 & 39 "Outer Ring" coalition seems to be solidified. An interesting aspect is to see the overlap between the two rings, namely the participation of Syria. Maybe it's extreme hatred of Israel, and its constant fueling of terror is why Damascus is specifically mentioned as being obliterated (something that has not happened in all its history until now) and left a wasteland. hmmm?

Syria's President, Bashar Assad, is in the news again today attempting to stimulate a renewal of peace talks with Israel. After seeing that Obama is a waffle, he has turned to a key participant in the "Outer Ring" coalition to help mediate peace. I am speaking of Turkey...capital city...Ankara. He has also bypassed Obama in favor of Nicolas Sarkozy of France. Sarkozy is part Jewish. He sees himself as a peace-maker...and really, he is. Some of you know my feelings about this guy. I will not state them here. HOWEVER, it is interesting to note that Syria is talking the talk of peace, yet continues to funnel massive amounts of arms into Southern Lebanon. Syria is fully given to the Iranian axis. Could it be that Assad has learned Ahmadinijad's stall tactics and is attempting to give them a go? Sure looks that way to me. This is just another twist in the wind while Israel prepares itself for war. Read this from today's Jerusalem Post.

'France Must Act,' says Assad as Meeting with Sarkozy Begins

By TOVAH LAZAROFF, RON FRIEDMAN AND AP

French President Nicolas Sarkozy's meeting with Syrian President Bashar Assad kicked off in Paris on Friday afternoon. Prior to the meeting, Assad stated that the talks would center on issues relating to Mideast peace, adding that "France must act" to ensure progress in the region.
Meanwhile, in an interview published Friday in the daily Le Figaro, Assad was critical of what he termed the US "weak link" in Mideast peace efforts and urged President Barack Obama to lay out a plan of action for renewed peace talks. Assad's visit to Paris comes two days after that of
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, giving the impression that France was positioning itself for what it has long sought - a larger role in the push for Mideast peace. On Wednesday, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu told Sarkozy during a meeting in the French capital that he would speak with Syrian President Bashar Assad "anytime, anywhere" and "without preconditions." However, a member of Assad's delegation in Paris told Israel Radio on Friday that Netanyahu's comments were "public relation exercise." He added that Damascus wanted Ankara to resume mediation between Syria and Israel. A government source clarified that the prime minister would be willing to talk directly with Assad, something that has not happened since Ehud Barak was in office 10 years ago.

Movie '2012' in theaters.

Some have asked what I think about 2012 and the Mayan calendar. Could the world end?

My Answer: Sure it could, but it won't! Why did the Mayan date keeper end at the Winter Solstice of 2012? A few plausible reasons:

1. He was getting really old by that date and died. It was a good stopping point.
2. His country was invaded and he had to run.
3. Maybe he just got tired of doing it.
4. A calendar that chronicles over 3000 years takes up a lot of rocks. (You know, carving on rocks?)

I'm not making fun of the fact that so many in the world actually sense that some ending is about to take place. That part is true. The world as we know it is about to change.....several times, in fact. However, IT IS GOD who controls the times and seasons, by his own authority. (Acts 1:7) If you are a pre-tribulation rapturist as I, this thing as at least 1007 seven years before a New Heaven and New Earth are created. (And that is predicated on the rapture happening today, and the Tribulation beginning immediately, which it may not.) So you see, the world is not going to come crashing down in 2012. I don't think the axis is going to shift, nor is global warming going to freeze the surface of the earth.

See the move....enjoy the special effects and the action.....and remember that it is purely science fiction with a little Algore thrown in!

Look up. That's where your redemption is coming from.

G8 Butts Head Into Solid Wall

For a short while it seemed a possibility. Nicolas Sarkozy had the G8 delegates, meeting in Italy, rallying on the same page in regards to Iran. But enter the Russians.....and the little rally ended. Although the American spin claimed an unprecedented "sense of urgency," the truth says something different. The nations of the world are impotent in dealing with Iran and its drive to develop nuclear weapons.

The goal Sarkozy was shooting for was the implementation of severe sanctions against the Iranian regime. Outrage over the harsh crackdown against protesters in Tehran was sounded by most delegates, but when it came to attaching any consequences to Iran's actions, the G8 slapped diplomatic duct tape over their mouths. Why?

A Debka File report today gives us a glimpse. "Russian opposition to condemning Iran left only an endorsement of the diplomatic track, which may have been directed more against an Israeli military option than Iran." THE RUSSIANS refused to betray its budding alliance with Iran and Islam. Not even a date limit for establishing diplomatic talks with Iran was agreed to. Rather than doing everything possible to prevent the radical regime of Ahmadinjad from attaining nuclear weaponry, Russia made a threat to Israel. This because of a February 21, 2009 agreement between Iran and Russia in which Vladimr Putin pledged to defend Iran against any western-generated military attack.

Before the breakdown in applying sanctions occurred, Vice President Joe Biden gave a clear go ahead for Israel to defend itself without American interference. But then the sanctions proposal broke down. Suddenly, in an interview from Italy, President Obama countered Biden's statement by stating that America would, and does oppose Israeli action. I cannot believe that Biden spoke on his own. He is on too short a leash. So what is going on?

Number One, it is increasingly obvious that Obama is out of his element. His posturing in the realm of foregin policy and geopolitical relations is minor league at best. His ego is larger than his intelligence. His attempts at international intrigue are at a pre-school level, especially in his chess match with the Putin. Putin is a Master player, and he is quickly driving Obama towards the ultimate "checkmate."

Number Two, when men think they are at the apex of wisdom, God calls them out and reveals that they are fools. Everything we are witnessing is confirmation to me that God is lining the world up for a showdown. The alignment of the Ezekiel 38-39 coalition is nearly complete. Israel stands alone and will soon be forced to act. Last week, in an interview with Israeli Foreign Minister and former Prime Minister, Ehud Barack, Greta Van Sustren asked how long Israel would wait before responding to the Iranian threat militarily. Barack clearly stated that Israel would wait "some months, not a year, but some months." Intelligence experts have been warning that Iran will reach the critical stage, the stage of no return in their nuclear development sometime in the fall of 2009. Could we be in the countdown to the setting of Ezekiel's hook?

Keep your eyes open. Keep your head up. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Sarkozy Inserts Himself Into Israeli Politics

From Israel Insider

During their meeting last week in Paris, French President Nicolas Sarkozy urged Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to replace Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman with Tzipi Livni, dovish chairman of the Kadima party, who held the top diplomatic post under disgraced former PM Ehud Olmert." With her and [Defense Minister Ehud] Barak you can make history," Sarkozy told Netanyahu, according to a Monday night report on Israel TV's Channel 2 News. "I have always accepted Israeli foreign ministers, and I loved having Tzipi Livni here at the Elysee [Palace], but with [Lieberman] I can't."

The French leader reportedly made a dismissive hand gesture when mentioning the Israeli Foreign Minister. The Prime Minister's Office refused to confirm the Channel 2 report, according to which Sarkozy had told Netanyahu in Paris last week, "You need to get rid of this man...You need to remove him from this position." Livni, he reportedly said, made a strategic mistake in refusing to join Netanyahu's cabinet. But, in addition to Netanyahu, three Israeli officials reportedly heard the undiplomatic statements by Sarkozy.

Netanyahu tried to mollify the French leader by saying that Lieberman's public persona is different than the impression one gets of him in private conversation. Sarkozy responded by saying that far-right, anti-Semitic French politician Jean-Marie Le Pen of the National Front is also "pleasant" in private conversations."You can't compare the two men," Netanyahu said. "Lieberman is not Le Pen." The French leader then denied he was trying to compare them at all.

This week, the Prime Minister's Office refused to comment on Netanyahu's talks with Sarkozy, adding that Foreign Minister Lieberman has Netanyahu's full support. But Netanyahu's problems may be getting worse. An inquiry by Ynet, internet site of the leading Israeli daily Yediot Aharonot, reveals the the Prime Minister's office instructed all participants in the meeting with French president not to inform anyone of its content. Even Lieberman was unaware of demand to replace him. The Israeli ambassador to France Danny Shek, who took part in the meeting, did not inform his boss of the criticism. Two other senior officials who were present at the meeting and did not disclose its content were Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz and Environment Protection Minister Gilad Erdan. Nor did National Security Advisor Uzi Arad.

Conversations held Tuesday morning revealed that the foreign minister was unhappy with Netanyahu's conduct. "We don't refer to conversations with world leaders, as well as routine talks held on a permanent basis between the prime minister and Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman," spokesman Nir Hefetz told Ynet. "All we can say is that the prime minister has a lot of appreciation for Minister Lieberman." Lieberman is choosing to ignore Sarkozy's harsh remarks. "Everything is wonderful," he said to those who asked him about the affair on Tuesday morning. " It's not interesting, apart from the fact that I am now included among world leaders like (US President) Barack Obama, Angela Merkel of Germany and the Spanish prime minister, all of whom have been the focus of Sarkozy's remarks."

Lieberman's public relations advisor, Tzahi Moshe, commented Monday that, if true, Sarkozy's comments represent a "serious and intolerable... intervention of the president of a respected democratic country in the affairs of another democratic country." President Sarkozy prefers diplomatic affairs with women to men in the Cabinet, and undiplomatic ones in the boudoir. He had an affair with the wife of one of his present Cabinet members about four years ago, when he was serving as Interior Minister, according to the former head of French police intelligence. The alleged episode was one of a multitude of damaging secrets reported yesterday from the private notebooks of Yves Bertrand, who was central director of the powerful Renseignements Généraux (RG) spy agency for 12 years until 2004.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry issued a statement Monday night saying: "We expect every political institution in Israel to condemn this blatant intervention of a foreign country in our private affairs, no matter what its political stance." Minister of National Infrastructure Uzi Landau, a leader in Lieberman's Israel Beiteinu party, reacted to the Channel 2 report on Tuesday morning in an interview on IDF Radio." It's difficult for me to believe that a leader of a friendly country could make such remarks," Landau said, "but were I the Prime Minister, and such comments were made in my presence, I would bang on the table and object. That's how a prime minister should conduct himself to defend his country's honor."

In May of this year, Foreign Minister Lieberman made his first diplomatic tour of Europe. He visited Paris and met with the Secretary General of the Presidency, Claude Guéant, but not with Sarkozy.Media in Israel speculated that the leak of Sarkozy's remarks must have come from supporters of Netanyahu or Livni, in a broad "hint" for Lieberman to step aside. The Prime Minister has expressed a willingness to invite Livni into his cabinet and invite her to once again serve as Foreign Minister, which would necessitate removal of the head of Israel Beitenu, at least from the Ministry.
