Provocation Without Response.....Yet

This article speaks for itself. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has provoked Israel, and Israel has responded in silence. How long will that last? This situation is the exact scenario of my fiction thriller series, the Lightning Chronicles. By its inaction, Israel permits Iran's annexation of Lebanon
DEBKAfile Exclusive Analysis October 14, 2010

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Ehud Barak and all of Israel's leaders chose silence in the face of the imperialist Shiite energy Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad exuded in his all-conquering visit to Lebanon. On his first day in Beirut, Wednesday, Oct. 13, he walked off with four major accomplishments:

1. He demonstrated that Tehran calls the shots in Beirut - not the lawful Lebanese government which is crumbling under Iranian pressure, not the divided Christian or Sunni Muslim communities and not even Syria. Every last Lebanese leader, including those who made a show of protesting his visit, paid homage to Ahmadinejad in Beirut and praised his "moderation."
2. The Iranian president's tour Thursday plants an Iranian flag on Israel's northern border with Lebanon and that's just for starters. The flag, already present in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, is heading for the West Bank and eventually Jerusalem. Addressing tens of thousands of cheering Lebanese Shiites in the Hizballah stronghold of Dahya in Beirut Wednesday night, Ahmadinejad and his puppet, Hizballah leader Hassan Nasrallah, pledged to make Israel "disappear" and declared nothing and no one can stop this happening. How and when is up to Tehran.
3. He also announced the formation of a new Islamic bloc, a revival of the old Eastern Front, composed of Iran, Syria, Turkey, the Palestinians, Lebanon and Iraq. It would be dedicated to fighting not only Israel but also America.
For the Iranian ruler, Israel is small change compared with the task of destroying America's Middle East presence and usurping its big power role. In the course of his triumphal tour of Beirut, an abject Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki came to Syrian president Bashar Assad cap in hand to beg for him to intercede with his Iranian ally for support.
4. Ahmadinejad gave the entire Arab Middle East an object lesson in how much ground the Islamic Republic and its president are capable of swallowing up - even without a nuclear weapon. They were warned by the way Lebanon fell at his feet that they stood no chance against their new hegemon as a nuclear power.
In every country's life, there comes a moment for decisive action as the only sensible course for self-preservation. This moment has come for Israel and it finds its leaders gripped by extreme paralysis - lethargic instead of proactive. They would impress a stranger as being mesmerized by the phenomenon at large on northern border.
In fact, Netanyahu and Barak are bound hand and foot by their (unpublished) pledge to US President Barack Obama to refrain from attacking Iran for a year. Not only have they been struck dumb in the face of the most brutal threat of extinction Israel has ever faced, they are squandering national energies on courting a failed Palestinian leader and a divisive argument over whether or not to extend the freeze on settlement construction for a few more weeks.
The Israeli government would have been fully entitled to stand up and warn Ahmadinejad that the morning after he and his puppet, Hassan Nasrallah, made a public oath to make Israel "disappear" forever, they had better not show their faces on the Lebanese border. Checking out their prey at close quarters could be dangerously premature for them both and lead to serious repercussions.
Instead, they sent the defense ministry's political coordinator Amos Gilead, an expert in shilly-shallying, to deliver a noncommittal remark or two in a radio interview.
He explained there was no need for Israel to take any action for now, but to trust the "forces of anti-Iranian resistance" in Lebanon. He seemed to have forgotten that even the Obama administration no longer believes these forces are capable of standing up to the peril besetting their country.
debkafile's sources find a strong, unfortunate analogy between Israeli passivity today and British appeasement on the even of World War II: the British prime minister Neville Chamberlain went down in history for signing away the Sudeteland region of Czechoslovakia to Nazi Germany at Munich in 1938, opening the door to Germany's conquest of Europe and the war, and the Netanyahu government's silence as power-hungry Iran annexes Lebanon on its doorstep.

Mahmoud

Iran is frantic. A worm has been released into it's Internet system, the system being used in its uranium enrichment, nuclear testing, and missile development projects. This malware has caused such damage that Iran is seeking help from the west...or the east, offering a hefty sum of money to anyone who can rid them of this virus.
There is general agreement around the world that Israel launched this cyber attack against Iran. Of course, many are screaming that Israel is unjustified in taking any action that will bolster its security. Ignored are the not only the comments, but the foundation of fanatical Islam from which Mahmoud Ahmadenijad speaks. To Israel, what the man says matters.
Here is a sample from the past year..... words of Ahmadenijad himself.

September 21, 2010
"The question is, why don't we allow this subject (the Holocaust) to be examined further... It is incorrect to force only one view on the rest of the world. How come when it comes to the subject of the Holocaust there is so much sensitivity?" (In a meeting with journalists in New York City.)
August 7, 2010
No “Zionists” were killed in the World Trade Center, because "one day earlier they were told not to go to their workplace. They announced that 3,000 people were killed in this incident, but there were no reports that reveal their names. Maybe you saw that, but I did not. What was the story of September 11? During five to six days, and with the aid of the media, they created and prepared public opinion so that everyone considered an attack on Afghanistan and Iraq as (their) right." (At a televised conference in Tehran.)
March 11, 2010
"See what has become of Israel. They [the West] gathered the most criminal people in the world and stationed them in our region with lies and fabricated scenarios. They waged wars, committed massive aggression… and made millions of people homeless…Today, it is clear that Israel is the most hated regime in the world… It is not useful for its masters [the West] anymore. They are in doubt now. They wonder whether to continue spending money on this regime or not…But whether they want it or not, with God's grace, this regime will be annihilated and Palestinians and other regional nations will be rid of its bad omen." (In a speech in southern Iran.)
February 25, 2010
"If the Zionist regime wants to repeat its past mistakes, this will constitute its demise and annihilation…With Allah's help, the new Middle East will be a Middle East without Zionists and Imperialists."(At a news conference in Damascus with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.)
To top it off, Ahmadenijad again prayed during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly that Allah would speed the coming of the 12th Imam, the Mahdi. Shia traditions tells us that for the Mahdi to appear, Israel and the west must be subdued, if not annihilated. This man is steeped from head to toe in his religious persuasion. We diagnose him as crazy...but miss the fact that fanaticism IS CRAZY...with a twist on reality. Mahmoud's reality is based on radical Islam and an apocalyptic end to the world.
Guess what. So is mine. The only difference is the truth of Jesus Christ, the one who died for my sin and was raised from the dead with overwhelming witness. The Mahdi? Another twist of the truth...a deception fabricated by the father of lies. That's the difference.

I Wish it Were True

Oh, how I wish this were true, but I don't believe Obama has the stomach for it.

Iran on war alert over "US and Israeli concentrations" in Azerbaijan
DEBKAfile Exclusive Report June 23, 2010
In a rare move, Iran has declared a state of war on its northwestern border, debkafile's military and Iranian sources report. Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps men and equipment units are being massed in the Caspian Sea region against what Tehran claims are US and Israeli forces concentrated on army and air bases in Azerbaijan ready to strike Iran's nuclear facilities. The announcement came on Tuesday, June 22 from Brig.-Gen Mehdi Moini of the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC), commander of the forces tasked with "repelling" this American-Israeli offensive. He said: "The mobilization is due to the presence of American and Israeli forces on the western border," adding, "Reinforcements are being dispatched to West Azerbaijan Province because some western countries are fueling ethnic conflicts to destabilize the situation in the region."
On Tuesday, June 22, Dr. Uzi Arad, head of Israel's National Security Council and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's closest adviser, said "The latest round of UN Security Council sanctions on Iran is inadequate for thwarting its nuclear progress. A preemptive military strike might eventually be necessary."
debkafile's intelligence and Iranian sources point to three other developments as setting off Iran's war alert:
1. A certain (limited) reinforcement of American and Israeli forces has taken place in Azerbaijan. Neither Washington nor Jerusalem has ever acknowledged a military presence in this country that borders on Iran, but Western intelligence sources say that both keep a wary eye on the goings-on inside Iran from electronic surveillance bases in that country.
2. Iran feels moved to respond to certain US steps: The arrival of the USS Harry S. Truman Strike Group in the Persian Gulf and the Arabian Sea and its war games with France and Israel, which included live-fire bombing practices against targets in Iran.
3. The execution of Abdolmalek Rigi, head of the Sunni Baluchi rebel organization (including the Iranian Baluchis), on June 20 was intended as a deterrent for Iran's other minorities. Instead, they are more restive than ever. Several Azeri breakaway movements operate in Iranian Azerbaijan in combination with their brethren across the border. Tehran decided a substantial buildup in the province would serve as a timely measure against possible upheavals.

Expert Baiting in Progress

Do you often experience that moment when you have to sit back and scratch your head in perplexity? I do, but this is not one of those moments. This is a moment of clarity, at least I believe it is.
"Clarity about what?" you might ask. Great question!
I believe it is becoming increasingly clear that Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadenijad is not only a radical nutjob, but he is purposely baiting Israel into an attack. Russia is probably involved in the game at some level, though there is no proof beyond the Biblical scenario given in Ezekiel 38. However, there is no logical reason for Russia to withhold its most advanced anti-aircraft/anti-missile defense system, the S-300, unless there is an underlying desire for someone to attempt to take out Iran's nuclear facilities.
Yesterday, I blogged on Ahmadenijad's baiting of Obama. Today, he went a step further during a military parade. Read on

'Iran's Army too Powerful to Attack'
By ASSOCIATED PRESS 18/04/2010

TEHRAN, Iran — President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Sunday extolled Iran's military might during an annual army parade, saying the country is so powerful today that no one would dare attack it.
The parade in Tehran showcased Iran's surface-to-surface Ghadr, Sajjil and Shahab-3 missiles, which have a range of up to 1,250 miles (2,000 kilometers) that puts Israel and U.S. bases in the region within Iran's reach. The Shahab-3 missile is capable of carrying a nuclear warhead. Although Tehran doesn't have one, this has been a source for Western concerns along with Iran's controversial uranium enrichment program, which the international community fears masks ambitions for an atomic bomb.
"Today, our armed forces have so much power that no enemy will harbor evil thoughts about laying its hands on Iranian territory," Ahmadinejad said at the parade marking National Army Day. The speech was broadcast live on state TV, which also showed segments of the parade.Ahmadinejad also urged the U.S. to stop supporting Israel and to dismantle the American military presence in the Middle East and Afghanistan.
Tehran sees American troops on its doorstep in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Persian Gulf as a threat, and Ahmadinejad reiterated his allegations that the U.S. presence is the source of the region's instability."They have to leave our region, this is not a request, it is an order from the nations of the region. It is the will of the regional nations," said Ahmadinejad. "If they are interested in helping the security of the region, they have to dismantle their military presence in the region and stop supporting Israel."

In the meantime, Israel issues a stern missive to Syria.

'Hizbullah a division of Syrian army'
By JPOST.COM STAFF 18/04/2010
Israel has warned Syrian President Bashar Assad that any missile attack against Israel by Hizbullah would result in retaliation against Syria, the Sunday Times reported on Sunday.
According to the UK paper, Israel’s missive – sent earlier in April – defined Hizbullah as a “division of the Syrian army,” a military branch of Damascus in Lebanon. The warning was reportedly delivered to Damascus by a third party.
All in all, I would say the baiting of Israel is coming from all sides, including the White House. Brace yourselves! As you see this catastrophe approaching, it would probably be wise to get serious in your church attendance. "Especially as you see 'that day' approaching." See you there!

Ahmadenijad wants to Marry Obama....sort of!

The other day someone asked me why it was so vital that the United States support Israel. This person was thinking in terms of Palestinian suffering at the hands of the Israelis.....something that has been carefully cultivated for the last decades, ignoring the fact that Palestinian suffering can be more directly laid at the feet of Radical Islam.
My answer is based on an everlasting covenant rather than any interpretation of current cultural conditions. It really would be nice if they could all get along, but that is simply not going to happen. Radical Islam is growing, and its intent is to take the land it believes was mis-inherited. Islam believes Ishmael was slighted by Abraham when it came to the inheritance. The Holy Land represents that inheritance. If the Jews (Isaac's illegally occupying offspring) can be pushed into the sea, radicalized Muslims believe there will be few roadblocks remaining to the Islamification of the world. The Jews, and all who stand with them, must be eliminated.
However, God spoke through the Psalmist and said that the covenant with Abraham was everlasting and perpetual. (Psalm 105) So, we have a problem.
It is clear to me that by forsaking Israel, the current administration is forsaking any future the United States might have enjoyed. The nation has turned so far away from God that its leadership finds it easy to take the last step toward condemnation.
Somehow, the Iranian Idiot-in-Chief understands this on some level. Read this article from the Debkafile and see how Obama is, on some level, buying into thinking that is askew.

Ahmadinejad: Iran is Obama's way to stay in power
DEBKAfile Special Report April 16, 2010

With typical provocative arrogance, Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said in a letter addressed to the US president that Barack Obama's power and success depends on Iran. Disclosing this Friday, April 16, the Iranian leader promised to publish the letter soon. "Obama should start cooperating with us in practice," he said. "We don't need you to do anything for us to come out of isolation, rather we want to help you come out of isolation."
On the US push for sanctions against Iran's nuclear program, he wrote: "The time when they can imagine they can do Iran any harm is over." The US cannot dominate the Middle East without Iran, he added. "The nuclear issue veils America's real intentions."
debkafile's Iranian sources reveal that the Iranian president's comment on the veil over America's real intentions refers to the Obama administration's behind-the-scenes contacts with Iran in which they are engaged in drawing the dividing lines of influence between the US and Iran in the Middle East and Persian Gulf. This is going on behind Obama's strong public condemnations of Tehran.
The discreet dialogue surfaced in the Iranian leader's avowed willingness to cooperate with Obama, hinting at an arrangement acknowledging Iran's supremacy as the regional power at Israel's expense.
Israeli leaders have failed so far to initiate assertive steps to counter-balance this unspoken process.
Ahmadinejad is clearly encouraged by the anti-Israeli rhetoric he hears from President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the way administration officials link the Netanyahu government's policies towards the Palestinians with the loss of American lives in Afghanistan and Iraq.
debkafile's Middle East sources stress that US-Iranian cooperation is already well in progress in Beirut, where Tehran's surrogate, Hizballah, has been co-opted to government and parliament with veto powers over their decisions; in Yemen, where Iran withdrew its backing from the Houthi rebels in a deal brokered by Syria; and in Baghdad, where Iyad Allawi, whose Al Iraqiya part won the general elections, was left no choice but to travel to Tehran to obtain Iran's blessing for his government coalition.
While still militarily present in Iraq, Washington has come to terms with the fact that even a pro-western Iraqi ruler who won office in a US-sponsored election cannot form a stable government without presenting himself cap in hand in Tehran.
Ahmadinejad is clearly willing to expand this profitable "cooperation" with the Obama administration to other Middle East spheres and so avoid a showdown over Iran's nuclear aspirations.
Where does this leave Israel?

He Said --- He Said

TWO ARTICLES OF NOTE which demonstrate the utter danger that Israel is facing....First, Obama is becoming comfortable with a nuclear Iran. It has been coming for a long time. The prospects of sanctions having any effect were always dim. Now, I would say they are nothing more than a gesture, or slap of the hand. (Lot's a good that does!)
Then, just as the President's acquiescence to a nuclear Iran goes public the Iranians increase their rhetoric. They are coming into the full understanding that Barrack Obama will NOT PROTECT ISRAEL! In fact, they see Obama as a fool as he attempts to appease radical Islam in his ungodly attempt to divide Israel and Jerusalem for the Palestinians. All he is doing it increasing the probability of a game-changing Middle East war, all while making God extremely angry! Imagine the God of the universe issuing a long-warned curse. Oh my!
Read these article and get a very clear picture of the current state of the world. Then read
Psalm 83
Isaiah 17
Ezekiel 25, 36, 37, 38, and 39
Zephaniah 2
Joel 3
Zechariah 9
Obadiah 15-18
You will get a very clear picture of what is coming soon! But also remember WHO is coming soon, then tell someone.

Obama: A nuclear Iran inevitable
By HERB KEINON AND JPOST.COM STAFF

It is inevitable that Iran will produce nuclear weapons, as things stand, US President Barack Obama said in an interview with The New York Times on Monday, seeming to indicate his administration was now resigned to a future including a nuclear-armed Iran.
President Obama stated he was now convinced that “the current course they’re on would provide them with nuclear weapons capabilities,” though he gave no timeline. He dodged the question of whether he shared Israel’s view that a “nuclear capable” Iran was as dangerous as one that actually possessed weapons.“I’m not going to parse that right now,” he said. But he cited the example of North Korea, whose nuclear capabilities were unclear until it conducted a test in 2006, which it followed with a second shortly after Obama took office.
(I'm sorry. Let me interject something. North Korea does not have the rabid desire to blow Israel off the map, so any comparison at having an ability to contain Iran when it goes nuclear is just plain foolish!)
Obama was speaking about revamping American nuclear strategy to substantially narrow the conditions under which the United States would use nuclear weapons, with exceptions directed at “outliers like Iran and North Korea” that have violated or renounced the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. On March 28, former US ambassador to the UN John Bolton warned of the White House moving towards acceptance of a nuclearly capable Iran. “I very much worry the Obama administration is willing to accept a nuclear Iran, that's why there's this extraordinary pressure on Israel not to attack in Iran,” Bolton told Army Radio.
On Saturday night, in response to an announcement by Iran’s nuclear chief of plans to build new atomic facilities in the country, and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s newest warning regarding Israel’s demise, a senior Israeli government official called for “determined and effective international action.”
(Again, let me interject that Obama's willingness to abstain from voting against a resolution to condemn and sanction Israel at the UN only demonstrates Ahmadinejad's call for effective international action....against Israel. We have bought into the lie!)
“Ahmadinejad’s continuous outbursts of extremist rhetoric only prove to the entire international community the seriousness of the threat posed by the Iranian regime’s pursuit of nuclear weapons, and heightens the need for determined and effective international action,” the official said.Ahmadinejad, referring on Saturday to escalating tensions in the Gaza Strip, said IDF action would “cost” Israel “too much.” “I say to the Zionists and their supporters that they have already committed enough crimes,” he told an Iranian crowd. “A new adventure in Gaza will not save you, but hasten your demise.” Faced with the prospect of new sanctions because of Iran’s nuclear defiance, Ahmadinejad said that such penalties would only strengthen his country’s technological advancement and help it to become more self-sufficient.

'We'll Strike Israel if Attacked'
By ASSOCIATED PRESS

Iran will strike Israel if its and its Western allies attacked Iran, a top official with the Islamic republic's elite Revolutionary Guard reiterated on Tuesday. "The enemies know if they fire a missile toward Iran, the dust from explosions by Iranian missiles will rise in Tel Aviv" even as "their missile is still in the air," Mojtaba Zolnour was quoted as saying by the semiofficial Fars news agency.
The same cleric issued a similar warning in October, when he said Iran would "blow up the heart of Israel" if the United States or the Jewish state attacked it first.
Teheran has missiles with a range of up to 1,250 miles (2,000 kilometers), making Israel well within their reach.
In related news, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said Tuesday that "Iran expects Russia not to be affected by the political pressure from other countries" over a 2007 deal on the S-300 air defense system. Russian officials say none of the missiles has been delivered because of technical glitches.
(Pardon the interruption: The Russians have not delivered the S-300 because they are orchestrating the plan to "BAIT" Israel into attacking Iran. They know that it will be a surgical strike, but will use it to roust the Arab world into an attack on Israel.)
The S-300 missiles are capable of shooting down aircraft, cruise missiles and ballistic missile warheads at ranges of over 90 miles (145 kilometers) and at altitudes of about 90,000 feet.

Oh, How the Wind Blows

Poor Barrack! Every move he makes only proves that he is twisting in the wind. He has no moral foundation on which to stand, other than a globalistic--socialism that denies that there is such a thing as right and wrong. History only matters in so far as it can further his quest to make the American people dependent upon his messianic hand. The only winds that do not seem to be effecting him are the winds of a people rising up to make him a one term POTUS.
In the meantime, one individual has figure out how to manipulate and frustrate our President. (See picture) Tehran's decision to raise its uranium enrichment level to 20 percent - taking it weeks away from weapons-grade production - has raised no cries of outrage in Washington or Jerusalem. Asked Monday, Feb. 7, whether president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's announcement brought military action any closer, US defense secretary Robert Gates said noncommittally: "If the international community will stand together and bring pressure to bear on the Iranian government, I believe there is still time for pressure and sanctions to work."
Only one problem with that assessment: The international community is divided when it comes to sanctions. China, Russia, and a good portion of Europe are against the use of sanctions. Why? Because they are bed fellows with Iran. Whether it centers around the refining of fuel or mutual defense treaties, they will stand against sanctions.
What options are left? We can either allow Iran to enrich its uranium and develop weapons, or someone is going to have to step out and blow the program into non-enriched atomic particles. Is Washington being silent because Obama plans on helping Israel destroy Iran's facilities? As for me, I hope so! If the US Administration makes Israel do it alone, it will have proven itself as the ultimate traitor...not only to Israel, but to the same majority of Americans that are standing with the Jewish state. BTW, that is the same growing majority our President seems to be ignoring!
Look up, your redemption is drawing nigh!

Does Iran Expect the Inevitable?

Before you thing Mahmoud Ahmadinijad reads the Bible, just remember that his entire game plan is designed around an apocalyptic event. In fact, it is his self-proclaimed calling to be the honored martyr that brings about the return of the Shi'ia Messiah, the Mahdi (or Twelfth Imam). The Shiite belief is wrapped in Biblesque proportions in that the Mahdi will return during a great cataclysmic holy war. He will return and subjugate all infidels to his sovereignty or he will destroy them. Jesus will return with him and bow to his feet. Ahmadinijad believes he is the man called to launch the final Jihad.
Today's Debkafiles is reporting: "The Iranians are frenziedly digging hundreds of new missile launch silos in central and Western Iran in readiness for a US or Israeli attack on their nuclear installations, DEBKAfile's intelligence sources report. The Iranians are working at the same frantic tempo to turn out Shehab-3, Shehab-4 and Sajil-2 ballistic missiles, as well as a fourth secret ICBM which is believed designed to carry a nuclear warhead." We know that Israel is being forced into a unilateral attack by its air force against Iran's nuclear sites. I continue to hold out hope that he United States will assist them in some form, but that might be wishful thinking. The question is; does Iran see the handwriting on the wall, and does it believe it is doing the writing?
Happy Sunday to YOU. The real Messiah is Coming Soon!

Is Iran's Vibrato Political or Genuine?

While envoys from the United States and Israel visited Moscow in order to convince the Russians that a "military option" to deal with Iran was still on the table, Iran's glorious leader was running off at the mouth....again. Listen to his own words in regards to the ongoing negotiations (sham) to deal with Iran's nuclear ambitions.

Saturday, president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad issued a veiled warning: "We hope the negotiations continue and evil powers don't indulge in mischief because the Zionist regime and other domineering powers are unhappy with the talks," he said in an Iranian state TV interview: "Today, Westerners know that without engaging Iran, they cannot rule the world, because Iran… rules world public opinion." (JP Staff)

Now, we all know Ahmadinijad is blinded, right? He and Iran really aren't rulers of world public opinion, is he? Could it be, even as we feel like spitting whenever we see the man, that he is correct? While we have been programmed to see everything as political, Ahmadinjad has been programmed to believe everything he is doing is right according to religion. For years the Iranians have manipulated the situations in Gaza, Syria, and Lebanon. Now we see the same happening in Turkey and Egypt. And have you noticed the lightning-fast upswing in world anti-Semitic speech and action?

I think Ahmadinijad believes what he says. I think he sees America (through the actions of the President) as weak and unwilling to make a real stand. He hates Israel. The world seems to be yanking at his coat tails. However, do not fear. The true manipulator is God Almighty, and he will not be mocked by an Iranian, or a Jew, or anyone else on the planet.

An Interesting Development: Biden Speaks

Is the Administration really having that much difficulty muffling Joe Biden, or is this the way President Obama keeps his own words from being soiled by the truth? On Saturday, Biden let fly the statement... "we underestimated the level of recession." He was referencing the fact that unemployment is 1.5 points higher than the administration predicted, as well as the fact that the stimulus may not have any effect after all. Has intelligence suddenly surfaced in Washington? Nah! It's simply the truth coming to light after the cat is out of the bag, the money is spent, and taxes are in the process of skyrocketing.
Now the theme switches back to Israel. As you read the following, you will see a couple of 'between the lines' issues. First, Obama thinks he is giving Israel a rope with which to hang itself. If they attack Iran, we won't stop them, nor will we help them. Second, Obama is attempting to manipulate Iran, as if Iran is cringing in fear of an Israeli attack. "Maybe," Obama thinks, "Mahmoud will come and talk to me about being a nicer individual if he thinks I am giving Israel a green light." Sorry. This is just another failure of understanding. Mahmoud Ahmadinijad would relish an Israeli attack. It would give him cause to rally the whole Islamic world against the little Satan. The Big Satan (America) has pretty much taken itself out of the picture by the way it is being ruled by a weenie. (I say that with respect for the office of the President, not the current occupant who resembles and Oscar Meyer product.) (Sorry, no negative inference to Oscar Meyer was intended.) Read the following and think it through.
Biden: If Israel wants to bomb Iran, we can't stop them

US Vice President Joseph Biden: Israel must determine for itself.
In an interview with ABC's George Stephanoupolos taped Saturday, vice president Joseph Biden said in answer to a question: "Look, Israel can determine for itself — it's a sovereign nation — what's in their interest and what they decide to do relative to Iran and anyone else." Whether we agree or not? The interviewer asked. "Whether we agree or not," said the vice president.
This was the first time a senior Obama administration official left Israeli the military option against Iran's nuclear sites. DEBKAfile's Washington sources note that the vice president has the reputation for fast draws which are sometimes later modified by "clarifications." If this time Biden's statement was coordinated with the president, it would mean that the administration has withdrawn its veto against Israel's resort to military action to curtail Iran's drive for a bomb before diplomacy has been fully tested.

He went on to say: "They're entitled to do that. Any sovereign nation is entitled to do that. But there is no pressure from any nation that's going to alter our behavior as to how to proceed. What we believe is in the national interest of the United States, which we, coincidentally, believe is also in the interest of Israel and the whole world.

"And so there are separate issues. If the Netanyahu government decides to take a course of action different than the one being pursued now, that is their sovereign right to do that. That is not our choice. "

Stephanopoulos persisted: But just to be clear here, if the Israelis decide Iran is an existential threat, they have to take out the nuclear program, militarily the United States will not stand in the way?

Biden: "Look, we cannot dictate to another sovereign nation what they can and cannot do.
Interviewer: You say we can't dictate, but we can, if we choose to, deny over-flight rights here in Iraq. We can stand in the way of a military strike.
Biden: "I'm not going to speculate, George, on those issues, other than to say Israel has a right to determine what's in its interests, and we have a right and we will determine what's in our interests."

DEBKAfile's intelligence sources: The last three days from Friday, June 3, have seen a spate of reports all pointing in one direction: Israel's air and sea capabilities for dealing with Iran and its military nuclear program. US vice president Biden's statement, unless it is withdrawn, looks like the Obama administration's seal on a possible Israeli attack for pre-empting a nuclear-armed Iran. "Israel can determine for itself whether or not to bomb Iran's nuclear program," he said.
Until now, administration officials referred a potential Israeli bombardment of Iran as a disaster whose consequences were impossible to predict.

Now the ball is squarely in Binyamin Netanyahu's court, whether because Washington hopes Israel will pull the Iranian chestnut out of the fire, or to call Israel's bluff. Netanyahu and defense minister Ehud Barak are now free of America restraints for backing up their statements about the need to pre-empt a nuclear-armed Iran before the Islamic Republic poses an existential threat to Israel.

Asked if Americans would again put their lives on the line again if violence flares back up in Iraq, Biden flatly said "no."

The ABC correspondent notes that in the interview Biden used the phrases "sovereign nation" six times in the interview, once in reference to Iraq, once to the US and three times in referring to Israel.
