A Whole Lot a Shakin Goin On

The eyes of the world have been locked on Haiti and the devastation caused by the earthquake center five miles beneath Port U Prince. Some many of the images are heart wrenching.
Many naturally ask the question WHY DO SUCH THINGS HAPPEN? A few have stepped forward to give an answer. I wish they hadn't.

One of these is Pat Robertson who blamed the earthquake and its aftermath on Haitians themselves saying "it's because half their population made a pact with the devil instead of converting to Christianity." While his statement has an element of truth to it....Pat missed something important. Jesus called us to be WISE as Serpents and HARMLESS of Doves. Pat missed it on both counts and has needlessly opened the door to ridicule. Thankfully, Christian organizations have been the bulk of the "First Responders" to Haiti, removing most of the credibility of his statement. If this act was a strict judgment against Haiti for half it's citizens making a pact with the devil, why has God punished the half that turned to Christianity? Has Mr. Robertson missed the fact that thousands of believers in Christ perished, or were maimed?

Another blowhole spouted off. Danny Glover proved the idiotic nature of the Global Warming crowd when he blamed the earthquake on the fact that we (the USA) walked out on the Copenhagen Climate Change Summit and others like it. In other words, because man has not done something about climate change, and earthquake smashed Haiti. The stupidity of the statement is only eclipsed by arrogance....arrogance that believes man is in control of his own destiny and can somehow rule the weather.
The Bible tells us the truth of the matter. Every earthquake, every tsunami, every tornado and hurricane, every calamitous event....can be traced back to the action of a man. His name was Adam. He was created to have dominion over the earth as he walked with God. He was told that death would be the result of disobedience. He disobeyed. Death began, not only for man, but for the object of his dominion. Since that day, "the earth has groaned, awaiting the revelation of the heirs of salvation." In fact, the Letter to the Hebrews spells it out rather clearly.
"See that you do not refuse him who is speaking. For if they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on the earth, much less will we escape if we reject him who warns from heaven. At that time, his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, 'YET ONCE MORE I WILL SHAKE NOT ONLY THE EARTH, BUT ALSO THE HEAVENS.' This phrase, indicates the removal of things that are shaken,--that is, things that have been made--in order that the things that cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken..." 12:25-28

We are in the period of Matthew 24 that speaks of an intensifying of natural disasters as the Kingdom of God is about to be birthed. The earth is reeling, not from Global Warming or Climate Change.....and not because of an arbitrary judgment of God. It is reeling because God said it would, and it is only going to continue until Redemption is Complete! So, instead of throwing rocks on the rubble, it might be better to jump in and rescue some people while there is still time.
Them's me thoughts and I's sticken to 'em!

Erasing Ezekiel's Jewish identity
By KSENIA SVETLOVA

For centuries Jews, Christians and Muslims came to Al-Kifl, a small town south of Baghdad, to visit the tomb of the Prophet Ezekiel and pray.

The distinctive Jewish character of the Al-Kifl shrine, namely the Hebrew inscriptions and the Torah Ark, never bothered the gentile worshipers. In the 14th century a minaret was built next to the shrine, but the interior design remained Jewish. The vast majority of Iraq's Jewish community left some 60 years ago, but Shi'ites took good care of the holy site.
Until now.
Recently "Ur," a local Iraqi news agency, reported that a huge mosque will be built on top of the grave by Iraq's Antiquities and Heritage Authority, while Hebrew inscriptions and ornaments are being removed from the site, all as part of renovations.
Prof. Shmuel Moreh of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, winner of the 1999 Israel Prize in Middle Eastern studies and chairman of the Association of Jewish Academics from Iraq, speaking to The Jerusalem Post on Wednesday, confirmed the report.
"I first heard the news of tomb desecration from a friend of mine who is a German scholar. After visiting the site he called me and said that some Hebrew inscriptions on the grave were covered by plaster and that a mosque is planned to be built on top of the tomb. He told me that he found the changes at the tomb disturbing and warned me that I'd better act quickly, before any irreversible damage will be inflicted," Moreh said.
"I had contacted Mr. Shelomo Alfassa, US director of Justice for Jews from Arab Countries, and told him about this situation. Then I saw the report from the Ur news agency, mentioning the decision of the Antiquities and Heritage Authority to build a mosque and to erase the Hebrew inscriptions and ornaments," Moreh said.
He asked friends to check out the developments at the site. The most recent to visit the shrine said that some of the inscriptions are now hidden by a layer of plaster.
Iraqi press reports claim that the building must be destroyed because of its poor condition. However, Alfassa believes that Iraq's Antiquities and Heritage Authority "has been pressured by Islamists to historically cleanse all evidence of a Jewish connection to Iraq - a land where Jews had lived for over a thousand years before the advent of Islam."
According to the Baghdad-born Moreh, many of the Muslims who visit the tomb today are unaware Ezekiel was a Jew.
Iraq, the biblical Aram Naharaim, is rich in Jewish religious sites. Not only Ezekiel is buried there, but also Ezra, Daniel, Nehemiah, Nahum and Jonah. (Another tomb attributed to Ezekiel is located in Dezful, in southwestern Iran.)
Soon after the US-led invasion in 2003, Iraqi authorities indicated that they intended to take good care of the Jewish sites, which might become an powerful tourist magnet. In May 2009, the Tourism Ministry declared that it intended to preserve all of Iraq's heritage sites, regardless of creed, and would soon begin the renovation of Ezekiel's tomb.
But the future of Jewish sacred sites looks grim in the intolerant current climate of post-Saddam Iraq, where only eight Jews are left, the Christian minority is severely persecuted by the fundamentalists and ancient Shi'ite mosques are blown up.
"Let's hope that the Jewish sites will be spared, but someone must intervene before it's too late," Moreh warned.
Now why would they do that? Islam is doing its best to remove any vestige of Jehovah from its midst. Ezekiel prophesied the ultimate GREAT SHOWDOWN between Allah and Jehovah ( Ezekiel 38 & 38), and Jehovah WINS. It is any wonder why the enemy of men's soul is hard at his deceptive work? This article may not stand out to most, but to me it is quite significant. Israel continues to be pushed into a box. Jewishness is being deligitimized at an alarming pace. The Bible is being relegated to the trash heap of history. Even Christians are disclaiming its Inspiration and truth. But Jehovah-God will not be mocked. Judgment Day for Islam, and the world, is fast approaching.
The Good NEWS....the day of Jesus' coming for his bride is also fast approaching. Are you ready?

Gosh, I Think He Means It (Not)

Only two types of people attempt to act as peace-makers by stomping their feet and throwing a huge hissy-fit. It is either a bully who is actually a wimp at heart....or.....someone with an ego the size of Mount Hood. In this case, we may have both types balled up into one. His name.... (uh, look to the left. Shh..you don't want to say his name in this context because you may be stuck with a label you really don't want. . . . . . . Nah, I'll say it.......) Barack Obama.
What is his current stratagem in the Middle East? Well, on Wednesday White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel told Israel's consul in Los Angeles that the Obama administration is fed up with both Israel and the Palestinians. He threatened, not promised, that the US will reduce its involvement in the Middle East if the situation does not improve. (We can only hope.) Emanuel met Jacob Dayan, consul general of Israel in Los Angeles, about two weeks ago, and Dayan then briefed the Foreign Ministry. Emanuel told Dayan the U.S. (shorthand for Obama) is sick of the Israelis (shorthand for Netanyahu) who, he said, adopt suitable ideas -- such as acceptance of the two-state solution and a freeze on settlement construction in the West Bank -- months too late, when they are no longer effective, according to Army Radio. The U.S. is also sick of the Palestinians who "never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity," Emanuel reportedly said. (Army News Daily) Emanuel reportedly said that if there is no progress in the peace process, the Obama administration will minimize its involvement (please say it ain't so) because, he said, the U.S. has other matters to deal with (like converting America into a socialist state, sucking the money from near-empty middle-class pockets, fouling up Health care, demonizing Christians and Conservatives, turning congress into a brothel, etc, etc, etc,). Offering a dubious carrot, Emanuel reportedly said that if there is progress in peace talks, Obama might visit Israel and the region. (OMG, the messiah may come to town. You Israelites better get your act together or Barack will smack you on the head with a TelePrompter.)
Happy Friday

A Widening Rift in Middle East

So, the plot thickens.....or maybe WIDENS. What could be pushing Turkey further into the Iranian camp? Is it radicalism? Is it due to supposed Israeli injustice toward the Palestinians? Is it the failed policies of an inept American president? Is it all of the above?
Great questions, all. But the point was missed completely. The downward spiraling saga of Middle East politics is not due to any of the above mentioned causes or gripes. How easily we forget that God is not only in control, HE IS THE MASTER MANIPULATOR! The grand difference between his instigation's and the manipulative movements of the enemy is this... God does not lie! There is no darkness or deception in him or his actions. What do I mean? I mean, this was all prophesied. God forewarned the world...especially the lovers of his Word...that this was all going to take place. The spiral towards God's imminent judgment cannot be stopped...unless an entire block of nations REPENTS and turns to God. (See book of Jonah for details on this type of occurrence!) Even so, God is not slow concerning his promises as some would suggest, but he is patient, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Sounds like scripture to me. Will the gathering nations repent? I believe the answer is NO, but the possibility still exists that people within those nations will come to Jesus Christ. That is what we should be praying for, and working for, and longing for...right along with the Peace of Jerusalem. (This is not necessarily a lack of conflict...but the Peace of Jerusalem is "The PRINCE of PEACE" who will set up his throne in Jerusalem.)
Proof that the Turkey/Israel rift is widening is found in the following article. READ on oh faithful follower.

Turkish ultimatum to Israel plunges ties deeper in crisis
DEBKAfile Exclusive Analysis
January 13, 2010, 4:18 PM (GMT+02:00)

Turkey's president Abdullah Gul, not satisfied with Israel's statement over the diplomatic incident between them, warned Wednesday, Jan, 13, that unless a full apology was forthcoming from Jerusalem by day's end, the Turkish ambassador would be recalled. In another slap to Jerusalem, Ankara shortened Israeli defense minister Ehud Barak's visit to Ankara next week from its scheduled three days to four hours, confining it to talks with Turkey's defense minister and chief of staff and cancelling meetings with political figures.
Until now, president Gul stood apart from prime minister Tayyep Recip Erdogan's anti-Israel rhetoric. By adding his voice to Erdogan's, he has deepened the crisis in relations between the two governments.
Tuesday, DEBKAfile reported:
Israel's leaders, and some of its military and security chiefs, refuse to recognize that it is no good expecting Turkish prime minister Tayyep Recep Erdogan and president Abdullah Gul to stay friends with Israel while eagerly rushing into the arms of the radical anti-West Ahmadinejad, Assad and Chavez.
The latest spat between Ankara and Jerusalem, generated by this week's pointless diplomatic tit-for-tat, originated in this ostrich-in-the-sand attitude. Erdogan's provocative anti-Israel comments certainly go down well in Tehran. However, Israel's foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman saw red and instructed his deputy Danny Ayalon to summon the Turkish ambassador for a dressing-down. Ayalon foolishly thought that showing the envoy to TV cameras seated lower than his Israel hosts would put Ankara in its place.
This pointless exercise could have been avoided had the Israeli government recognized that the good old times of close strategic and military friendship with Turkey were over and Turkey was operating on a different plane.
Jerusalem's fond illusion is shared by the Obama administration which too refuses to accept that the Erdogan regime has divorced itself from the pro-Western bloc of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and Israel and plunged headlong into the new "Northern Islamic Alliance" club, alongside Iran, the Lebanese Hizballah and the Palestinian extremist Hamas.

Stuff!

Some STUFF to think about.

1. I happen to be a sinner. Are you?
2. I happen to have met the Savior. Have you?
3. My sins have been forgiven forever. Have yours?
4. Hell is no longer my destination. Is it still yours?
5. My loyalty is to a King? Is yours?
6. I have a reserved apartment in Jerusalem. Do you?
7. I have become the righteousness of God in Christ. Have you?

Just a few thoughts. Okay, the news.

Two stories of note have hit the wires today. The first takes us deeper into the chasm that continues to widen between former friends and allies, Israel and Turkey. According to the DebkaFile, it seems that the Israeli Assistant Foreign Minister, Danny Ayalon, took a step to demonstrate Israel's disgust with a television program that was aired in Turkey. The documentary depicted Israeli Mossad agents as baby killers, and the IDF as perpetrators of a Palestinian holocaust that is greater than the alleged WWII Jewish Holocaust. What did Ayalon do? In a photo op with the Turkish Ambassador, Ayalon sat on a relatively tall stool while making the Turk sit on an extremely short chair. He also made sure the Israeli flag leaned to his side, making it look like the Turk was a plebe.
Immediately, the Turks cried foul! Oh dear.
In another American-led twist, U.S. Middle East Envoy, George Mitchell, decided to really sound tough. In not so many words, Mitchell threatened to remove loan guarantees on money loaned by American banks to Israel if the Israeli's didn't come to the table and negotiate to cede more land to the Palestinians. Israel's reaction made me smile. Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz on Sunday said "Israel did not need US loan guarantees anytime soon and has managed to raise funds without guarantees from the debt-ridden American government. Off the record, other Israeli officials suggested that the Americans might be in need of Israeli guarantees in the years to come." Ah, Israel stood up to the Obama Administration. But wait, there's more. On Saturday night, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu reminded Mitchell and the US Administration that Israel has taken significant steps to propel the peace process forward while the Palestinian Authority refuses to renew peace talks. "It is the Palestinian Authority that needs to change its ways - certainly not the Israeli government," the PMO statement read.

Way to go Israel! Maybe an American Senator or two might like to use your example and stand up to the stupidity flowing from the White House and State Department. 'nuf said!

A Game of Chess?

Way back when I was in high school and playing saxophone in the pep band (at basketball games...I was a wrestler for those of you who think sax players are sissies!) one of the popular ditties was a song made famous by Sonny and Cher......you remember it....sing along.... "And the beat goes on....and the beat goes on..." That is the feeling I get as I watch the current Obama Administration attempt to play high-stakes Chess with Iran. In my humble opinion, the entire arsenal of our assortment of MOABs should have descended on the Ayatollahs a long time ago. But no..."Let's just talk"....is all we seem to get out of this bunch of yahoo's in Washington.
Today we discover that the USS Eisenhower Carrier group has been sent to the region in order to bolster the Sixth and Seventh Fleets. Is it a gearing up of the US to bomb the Iranians further back into the stone age (they are already there in many ways), or is it saber rattling to attempt to scare Ahmadinijad to the table? If it is the former, I say JUST DO IT! If the latter, I say FORGET ABOUT IT. Again, the Administration evidently fails to understand the nature of the beast that it is trying to play with. The radical islamists want one of two things...either an armed confrontation to justify their cause....or a nuke to further their cause. If we are going to use force against them, we'd better be prepared to do the job thoroughly and completely. The worst scenario would be if our President is simply trying to stall the Israelis. Forgive me if I rant at bit.... FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, THE ISRAELIS ARE THE ONES IN THE CROSSHAIRS!
The following is the report from DebkaFile

Petraeus: Iran's nuclear infrastructure can be bombed
DEBKAfile Special Report
January 11, 2010, 10:14 AM (GMT+02:00)

The deployment in the Middle East of the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower carrier strike group in the first week of January adds muscle to the words of Gen. David Petraeus, CENTCOM commander, on Jan 10 that Iranian nuclear infrastructure, albeit strengthened against attack with enhanced underground tunnels, wasn't fully protected.
"Well, they certainly can be bombed," he said to CNN. "The level of effect would vary with who it is that carries it out, what ordnance they have and what capability they can bring to bear."
This judgment contradicts recent US media estimates that Iran's nuclear facilities buried deep in fortified tunnels are now protected against air or missile strikes.
Declining to comment on the likelihood of an Israeli strike, Gen. Petraeus said there was still time for diplomacy, but pointed out: "It would be almost literally irresponsible if Centcom were not to have been thinking about 'what ifs' and making plans for a whole variety of different contingencies."
DEBKAfile's military sources add: CENTCOM was substantially beefed up by the USS Eisenhower carrier which President Barack Obama deployed in the New Year to the Persian Gulf and Mediterranean in support of the US Fifth and Sixth Fleets. He ordered this six-month deployment, the first since he took office a year ago, in view of the rising tensions around Yemen and Iran.
The Eisenhower carries eight air squadrons on its decks.
Air Wing Seven is made up of four fighter-bomber squadrons, a squadron each of early-warning surveillance, electronic warfare and tactical support aircraft and another of anti-submarine helicopters. Its strike force consists of the USS Hue City guided missile cruiser, and two guided missile destroyers, the USS McFaul, USS Farragut and USS Carney.
Obama said in a recent interview that he had not intention of sending US combat troops to the terrorist havens of Somalia and Yemen because "working with international partners is most effective at this point."
This statement ties in with pumping up America's naval and air strength in the two volatile regions to avoid sending in more boots on the ground which the US cannot afford at this time.

Thanks for praying for the peace of Jerusalem.

Preparing for War

The lull hanging over Southern Israeli Command is only temporary. Over the last week a new, though sporadic wave of Kassam rockets and mortars have been fired into Israel from the Gaza Strip. The response by the IDF was to send F-16 fighter aircraft into the Strip with the intent on destroying tunnels that move these weapons across the Egyptian border and into Gaza.
The question is how long will Israel wait before it launches a more concentrated attack? And when they do, how will they prevent a widening of the conflict? Lebanon and Hezbollah have rearmed. Syria has taken the opportunity to reposition its forces. And what about Iran, Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia? These nations are all listed in the Psalm 83 prophecy as being destroyed by Israel. Listen to the words of one of Israel's top commanders as he assesses the situation.

'Another War with Hamas is Inevitable'
By JPOST.COM STAFF

Just over a year after IDF Operation Cast Lead in the Gaza Strip, former OC Southern Command Maj.-Gen. Yom Tov Samia on Sunday predicted that another war with Hamas was practically inevitable and would take place in the near future.

"We are before another round in Gaza," Samia told Army Radio in an interview. "I am very skeptical about the possibility that Hamas will suddenly surrender or change its ways without being hit much more seriously than it was during Cast Lead."
Israel must carry out "a more focused strike with long-lasting results" the former commander said, and advised that the in the next war, the army should take control of certain areas in Gaza so that Hamas understands its own actions have lead to this loss.
"We must create a situation in which Hamas runs out of oxygen," Samia told the radio station.
Samia went on to say that Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas the Fatah movement have virtually no supporters in the Gaza Strip. They are "certainly very weak or almost non existent in the Strip. For Abu Mazen (Abbas), the best chance at returning to power is taking a serious, significant and critical step that would drive Hamas out of power," Samia said.
Samia's remarks came days after OC Southern Command Maj.-Gen. Yoav Galant warned on Wednesday that the quiet in Israel's South may be temporary.

"It's true that we are after the first rains and the sun is shining - but one can see dark clouds in the distance," Galant said during a tour with heads of regional councils marking a year since Operation Cast Lead.
However, Galant stressed that the IDF was training and preparing to face the trouble ahead, and added that "civilians are rightly preparing themselves for another round of fighting."
In related news, Hamas on Friday boasted that it had managed to smuggle new types of weapons into the Gaza Strip despite the blockade, and published photographs of some of the arms it allegedly obtained.
Izz al-Din al- Kassam Brigades published photographs of newly acquired weapons including missiles with a double warhead, 107-mm caliber missiles designed to penetrate fortified structures, and a new type of armor-piercing RPG missile.

Once again, 2010 really stands to be an interesting, if not pivotal year in prophecy. Stay Tuned!

Rapturous Thoughts In a Snow Drift

As I sit in my not-quite-cozy, snow drift bound office and muse about the world and other sundry items that flash through the portals of my mind, I cannot help but consider an important question that keeps popping up. Will the RAPTURE of the Church take place this year? This seems to be the great interrogative on many believer's lips...yet how can I answer, other than to say a hardy "I hope so?" Really, no man knows the day or the hour. We are only given the warning of "STAY ALERT" or "Be Watchful." The Lord was kind enough to give us a picture of the season in which he would call for his Bride, but beyond that.....no concrete signal or countdown.
However, my Pastor of student ministries and I were bouncing the question around and I believe I may have stumbled on a plausible answer. The Rapture will PROBABLY happen in 2011. Why, you might ask? Well, here is my new theory. (And please leave the rocks in place on the ground, for I am not proclaiming myself a prophet:)
First....it all has to do with Football.
You see, it appears that 2010 will usher in an uncapped free agency in the NFL because the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) between players and owners is being challenged. That means owners are going to spend like crazy to try and get their teams to the Superbowl in February 2011.
Then, because the CBA will not have been negotiated by the start of the 2011 season, the owners will initiate a lock-out and the 2011 season will not happen.
The Result?
The MEN of America, particularly the Christian Men of America, will be forced to go to church and actually keep their minds on the Word being preached and the Worship being offered. History says that whenever men get excited and passionate about God....REVIVAL takes place! As we see events shaping up in the Middle East, and because I believe a Latter Rain Revival will be poured out on the Church before the Rapture, then this coming lockout in 2011 would surely be the trigger event!
Second....the interpreters of the Mayan Calendar tell us the world will end in 2012. Therefore, Jesus will have to hurry up his own time schedule before calamity strikes.
Please, please, please, do not pass this information along....and DEFINITELY do not use my name if you do.
Now, some real news concerning the Iranian nuclear situation and what the US might be thinking militarily.

US preparing for possible Iran conflict
By HILARY LEILA KRIEGER

The US does not want to see confrontation with Iran but is still preparing its military for that possibility, America's top uniformed officer said Thursday.

"We've looked to do all we can to ensure that conflict doesn't break out there, while at the same time preparing forces, as we do for many contingencies that we understand might occur," Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said during an appearance at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.
Mullen had been asked whether the US military was stretched too thin to take further action in trouble spots beyond Iraq and Afghanistan.
"We're very hard-pressed right now" because of the two wars, he noted, but added that it is primarily ground troops that have been deployed, and "the likelihood that our ground forces would have to go somewhere in these kinds of numbers in some other part of the world, or even in the same region, I think is pretty low."
Many experts assess that any American military engagement with Iran would most likely rely on air and naval power. Mullen was even more definitive when asked to assess whether Teheran was seeking to acquire nuclear weapons.
"I believe that they're on a path that has a strategic intent to develop nuclear weapons and have been for some time," he said.
Mullen's words were echoed by a report in The New York Times this week that US President Barack Obama's top advisers say "they no longer believe the much disputed National Intelligence Estimate" from 2007, which assessed that Iranian scientists ended all work on designing a nuclear warhead in 2003.
Israel had long objected to that finding, and questioned the intelligence evaluation behind it. Mullen's comments and those of other US officials bring the two countries more in line.
"I think the Obama administration now fully acknowledges that Iran intends to conduct a nuclear weapons capability program," Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren told The Jerusalem Post Wednesday. "We agree with the administration on the intent of the Iranian regime to acquire nuclear military capability."
The Times also reported that technical challenges and potential Western sabotage have significantly hurt Iran's production of low enriched uranium, a necessary component for a nuclear bomb. That has set back the American estimated timeline for production of a weapon, according to the Times.
Oren indicated that Israel remains focused on the low enriched uranium still being produced.
"In spite of some reported breakdown in centrifuges, Iran still has something in the vicinity of 4,000 centrifuges that are operating and they are churning out significant quantities of LEU," he said.
Mullen called any attainment of a nuclear weapon by Iran "incredibly destabilizing," particularly because it could set off an arms race in the region and because of Teheran's support for terrorism.
"On the other hand," he added, "striking Iran, that also has a very, very destabilizing outcome. What I worry about in most of the cases are the unintended consequences."

Surprise! Surprise! Obama Drops Push for Sanctions

Be honest....who didn't see this one coming? Only the blindest of the blind, the dullest of the dull, the liberalist of the liberals missed this one. Sanctions against Iran aren't-a-gonna happen! Shazaam, we've been hoodwinked. We've been fooled....for the umpteenth time in a year. (Funny how the Iranians knew it all along..tee..hee..hee) And the clouds of surrealism thicken.
Problem...Israel was caught off guard by today's announcement by Secretary of State that the Obama Administration is going to cease it's push for international sanctions against Iran. This is where Benjamin Netanyahu either learns a huge lesson, or fails miserably in protecting Israel from the cutthroats who want to push the Jews into the sea. Maybe it's the mass of water between us and Israel, but many of us in the USofA saw this one coming the second Barack made his first speech to Jews. He has thrown Israel off the bus on multiple occasions...but the Israelis keep climbing back on board. Now, he has not only tossed them under the bus, he is leaving them hanging in the wind. Could it be a nuclear wind?
The DebkaFile reports Hillary's very words.... "The Obama administration wants to keep the door to dialogue open with Iran," she said Jan. 4, then added a remark which let Iran off completely of the American hook: "…although the United States has avoided using the term deadline, it cannot wait indefinitely to hear form Iran."

Grant it, that sounds like the Administration is running out of patience...that maybe the military option is on the table at last....but nay...'tis a wrong assumption. The article continues....

DEBKAfile's Iranian sources report that Tehran sees Washington as so eager to reach the negotiating table that it is falling back from effective penalties step by step, including an embargo on refined oils and benzene, and even willing to forgive Iran's failure to meet a highly publicized international deadline.
"Our goal is to pressure the Iranian government, particularly the Revolutionary Guards elements without contributing to the suffering of Iranians," Clinton explained.

What? You have got to be kidding....pressure Revolutionary Guard element? The greatest opportunity Obama had was the uprising of pro-democracy protesters after the fraudulent elections last year....and they are at it again. Have you heard support coming from the mouth of the Babe (Barack, not Hillary)? Has the messiah spoken in support of those who would change the direction of Iran? Nah....he's too busy pushing a Healthcare fiasco into the darkness and out of the light in order to hoodwink the American people yet again. (Can you tell I'm steamed up a bit?)
And this means what? Again, Israel must be moving out the final stages of its comatose hope in America. My prayer is that they soon begin to turn to Jehovah....and eventually their true Messiah...Yeshua! Not only is a war inevitable, it is approaching with astonishing speed.

Obama Being Played On Both Fronts

Okay, I admit it. I confess that I did a fair amount of Obama bashing in 2009. It's true. Notice that I included the word fair...because when one man rises to the position of being the most powerful leader in the world his actions and philosophy deserve scrutiny. If the scrutiny falls on the side of bashing because of foolishness, naivete, or wrong philosophy, so be it. President Obama is guilty on all points.
It has been interesting, if not a point a frustration to see the President being twisted in the wind by the Iranians. He wants to talk peace so desperately that he has been willing to allow himself to be dragged along by people that have no desire whatsoever to be peaceful. That is basically a one-sided negotiation. By the fact that no military option seems imminent, nor is the international community on board with sanctions, all that results from one-sided negotiation is appeasement. Bash worthy? Yep...foolishness at its finest is being demonstrated in Washington.
The funny thing is seeing that Israel has finally learned to do the same. One of today's news items was a renewed pledge by Benjamin Netanyahu to sit down and talk with the Palestinians without pre-conditions. On the surface this stance seems just as foolish as Master Obama's attempt to unclench the Iranian fist. However, I will lay odds that Bibi Netanyah is smarter than Barry Obama, hands down. You see, Netanyah knows he needs to appease someone. His choice is to play up to Obama...to make him feel successful...to allow him the thought that his strategy actually has value. If Obama is willing to tolerate Iran's missing of multiple deadlines, Netanyhu figures he'll be happy with any small appearance of concession on the part of Israel. But here is the catch that demonstrates savvy on the part of the Israeli Prime Minister. Netanyahu knows two things for certain....
1. He knows there is no solidified Palestinian voice. Hamas rules in Gaza, and they have vowed never to negotiate. Mahmoud Abbas is really only a figurehead in the West Bank and has nothing more than a friendship with Obama to give him any credentials at all. He will soon be gone! Therefore, pledging to return to the table, on the part of Israel, is a masterstroke.
2. Netanyahu also knows that even though he says he has no pre-conditions, the Palestinians do. They will never recognize Israel's right to exist, which means that all Israel has to do is offer to talk about the Palestinians right to exist as a state. TRUMP! Netanyahu again looks like the smart guy who is willing to give some ground while the Obama-loved Palestinians look like the warmongers.
In the coming weeks of 2010 I look for Obama to continue to be played by both sides simply because his ego demands it. Israel will wait a bit longer for any signs of international sanctions to pick up steam, but they won't wait long. Iran is picking up steam in completing its NUKE. Something will have to be done to set them back a bit. So, the twisting in the wind continues!

That "Jewish" Feeling

The following article comes from Jerusalem Post writer, Herb Keinon. I am amazed at the impact his humor has on an extremely sad and dangerous trend....the rise of anti-Semitism!
I encourage you to read the entire article. In it you will sense the fear and mistrust that has permeated the Middle East. You will also get a subtle image of the alliances that are forming against the State of Israel...alliances prophesied in the Old Testament.
Read on, and be sure to pray for the peace of Jerusalem in this new, and probably eventful year.
Out There: Feeling the love (not)
By HERB KEINON

"Herbert, come with me," the uniformed, mustachioed Jordanian official said, holding my passport and calling me by my passport name, waving me away from the small group of Israelis I was travelling with.
On our way to a Russian-sponsored conference on Middle East peace on the eastern shore of the Dead Sea, five of us had special dispensation to cross into Jordan from the Allenby Bridge, a privilege not ordinarily granted Israelis.
I followed the official into a small room, where another uniformed man, smoking a cigarette, told me I was not on the list of Israelis approved for passage.
"Why are you not on the list?" he asked in an intimidating bureaucratic tone that immediately got me nervous.
"I dunno," I replied, always quick on my feet. "I should be."
Yup, I had him there.

"Sit there," the Jordanian gestured, not unkindly.
And so I sat, as the wheels of Jordan's bureaucracy began to turn.
And as I sat there, separated from my newfound Israeli friends, I felt an impotent sense of powerlessness. I knew rationally that no harm would come to me, and - if worst came to worst - I would be sent back across the Allenby Bridge to the loving embrace of my family.
But one does not always think rationally, especially in settings like these, and the darkest of thoughts intruded on my mind, particularly during the short time I wasn't allowed to join my travelling-partners.
I thought about jail cells and visitation rights and that grisly 1970s movie about Turkish prisons, Midnight Express.
Sitting in the room in silence as the officer waited for a clarifying phone call, I kept looking at the ceiling for one of those ceiling fans. You know, the kind that whirs above and always accompanies scenes like these in movies, where an innocent guy is interrogated in some hot, Middle Eastern or Latin American country before being thrown into a holding cell with terrorists, rapists and drug runners.
Those thoughts fled when I joyously noticed there was no ceiling fan, and when I was finally allowed to rejoin my group. A short time later, after the Jordanians served us sweet tea, and the country's head of intelligence - contacted at home - approved my entry, we were permitted passage into the Hashemite kingdom.
Okay, I thought, a two-hour border delay is not that bad. My unease was unwarranted; I'm just paranoid.
BUT I was not alone. On the way back to the Allenby Bridge from the conference, the cab driver started down a narrow road, taking a different route to the bridge.
Since it was night when we drove from the bridge, and daytime when we returned, I had no clue we were on a different course, and was downright blissful in my ignorance. Not so Ya'acov Amidror, a major-general in the reserves and one of the Israelis - along with Bar-Ilan University Prof. Efraim Inbar - with whom I shared the cab. Amidror, with those sharp military instincts, sensed we were driving by a different route and suspiciously queried the driver.
The driver responded that this was simply a quicker way back. That sounded reasonable. But, indicative of our thoughts, black humor flowed regarding possible captivity.
"Who do you think the kidnappers will treat with more respect," someone said, "the general, professor or journalist?"
"At least we are three, enough for a mezuman [quorum for grace after meals]," someone else noted.
All of which underlines the insecurity and vulnerability that Israelis feel when travelling even to Jordan, a country with which we have a peace treaty and good relations at a governmental level.
I stress "governmental level," because I didn't exactly feel the love from the folks participating in the conference. According to one report, a number of Jordanian journalists protested the presence of the small Israeli delegation by simply not showing up. The Israeli presence also forced representatives from some other states, such as Iran, Bahrain and Lebanon, to cancel their participation.
One would think, therefore, that those who did muster the courage to come to the conference and sit with Israelis would be open and awfully nice folk.
Think again. Taking my place around the conference table, I was positioned between one female professor from the US, and a strikingly attractive woman from an Arab state, whose name tag I could not see. After exchanging pleasantries with the American, I turned to do the same with the woman on my left.
Bad idea. She turned her back and grunted in response to my hello. We sat in the same session - right next to each other - for some five hours, but exchanged nary a word or even a glance.
And my experience with that woman represented a veritable love fest compared to statements delivered by speaker after speaker from the Arab world - the Palestinian Authority, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iraq and Egypt.
SITTING IN Israel - talking to ourselves, about ourselves - we become detached from and immune to the feelings of enmity toward us that exist among our neighbors. We definitely know they are there, but we don't feel them first-hand. But that enmity is real, it is passionate and it is sobering. For two days, I sat at a conference on peace in the Middle East and heard one Arab speaker after the next essentially drop all of the world's evils on Israel's lap, at our door step.
Loyal readers who follow this space might remember that last month, after visiting the US and Canada, I wrote that Israel had much more support in North America than we generally appreciate, and that this support could be found in some of the most unexpected places - like Austin, Texas or Florence, Alabama.
Last month I felt that love, 10,000 kilometers miles away in the American South. This month I felt the hate, 50 kilometers away in Jordan. And that explains why when I came back across the Allenby Bridge, I had this sudden yearning for all things Alabama.

Guest Article to Start the New Year

So, 2010 arrived. For me, it came with 5 degree weather, snow pack, and no fanfare whatsoever. Just the way I like it. At my age, sleep feels better than partying! I also realized this will be the decade of my 60th birthday, should the Lord choose not to return for his Church in the near future. Oh well.

I begin the new year with a guest article that succinctly outlines why military action against the Iranian nuclear program is the only workable option. Michael Kolker makes sense. Read and feel free to tell me what you think by commenting below.

Michael Kolker: Only Force Will Stop Iran
It should be obvious to anyone paying even casual attention to the actions and statements of the leaders of Iran that nothing short of military action will stop their pursuit of nuclear weapons. The leaders of Iran have made their intentions clear: They are determined to develop nuclear weapons, they are determined to destroy the State of Israel, and they are willing to sacrifice and kill their own citizens to stay in power and achieve their goals.Appeasement and negotiation cannot work with such people. Deterrence and sanctions cannot work with such people. Sanctions will only harm the people of Iran, and the leaders care nothing for their welfare. If the history of the last century teaches us anything, it is that there is evil in the world, and the sooner evil is confronted and defeated, the better. Appeasing evil only makes the ultimate destruction and death much worse when the inevitable confrontation occurs.Democracies are traditionally and understandably reluctant to take military action to defeat evil, even in the face of imminent and undeniable threats. Dictators use that reluctance to achieve their goals, while giving democracies the false hope that negotiation and appeasement can avoid military conflict. This scenario, which was played out in the 1930's is being repeated today. There are “politically correct” pundits and commentators who argue that Iran’s quest for nuclear power does not constitute a threat to the West. They argue that the leaders of Iran are “rational” and “pragmatic”. They argue that Iran is essentially a peaceful country that has not attacked or invaded another country in over 30 years. They even will argue that the constant threats coming from the leaders of Iran that Israel must be destroyed have been misinterpreted. This is a blatantly false and a disingenuous argument. In fact, Iran has repeatedly attacked and terrorized another nation: Israel. It has done so through its agents, Hamas and Hizbullah. These groups have fired literally thousands of missiles at Israeli civilians in recent years. Iran supplied many of these weapons, and continues to attempt to ship weapons to these groups even today. These are not the acts of an essentially peaceful regime.Winston Churchill called World War II "The Unnecessary War", because it could have been prevented if the world's democracies had forcefully confronted Nazi Germany earlier, when its intentions were obvious. The world's failure to do so resulted in the most destructive war in human history and the death of hundreds of millions of people, including 6 Million Jews. The death count and destruction would have certainly been even worse if Hitler had possessed nuclear weapons. In politics and foreign policy, the important decisions are often is not between the good and bad, but between the bad and worse. Taking military action against Iran to cripple its nuclear weapons program would certainly have terrible and unforeseeable consequences. Allowing Iran to develop nuclear weapons would be catastrophic for the entire world, and not just for the 6 million Jews of Israel. Nuclear radiation does not stop at the borders of states, and cannot distinguish between Jews and non-Jews.Mr. Obama acknowledged the presence of evil in the world in his speech accepting the Nobel Peace Prize. One can only hope he has the wisdom, foresight and courage to confront the leaders in Iran with military force sooner, rather than later. It is obvious nothing else will stop them.

When You Add it up, 2009 Was Prophetically Monumental

Yes, you heard it! I'm doing math. I hate math. Math makes me sick to my stomach (unless I am building something:). But taking the final day of the year to review the sum total of 2009 is necessary, as well as enlightening. Events are not random, nor are the consequences of said events. Just as 2 + 2 = 4, so event laid upon event equals a certain direction. The question is whether or not the developed direction runs parallel to the prophesied events of the Word of God. I believe they are. Let's review some of the events that took place, events that seemed to be laid on a path that will eventually lead to the Prophetic.
January
--- Operation Iron Fist by the IDF in the Gaza Strip leads to an alarming revelation of world anti-Semitism, including within the diplomatic community of the United States. In other words, the anti-Semites were given an opportunity to come out of the closet and they did.
--- Barack H. Obama was inaugurated as President of the United States. The first black, Muslim educated, anti-capitalist President in the history of our country. He campaigned on change, and he has certainly accomplished his promise. Everything has changed!
February
--- Vladimir Putin visits Tehran in order to reaffirm Russia's partnership with Iran, both in its nuclear development and rebuilding its military. A second $1 Billion dollar military pact is signed in which Russia began to rebuild Iran's air defense systems.
---Russia negotiates a $1.5 Billion dollar military and natural gas agreement with Libya. Two Libyan ports are given into the hands of the Russian Navy for refueling, porting, and to modernize the facilities.
---Russia signs another $1 Billion dollar agreement and mutual defense treaty with the Sudan.
---Benjamin Netanyahu wins a closely contested race for the right to form the next Israeli government.
March
---Russia completes the expansion and modernization of the Syrian port of Tripoli on the Mediterranean Sea. Russia now has full port access for its navy in Syria and Libya. Russia's naval presence surpasses the American naval presence for the first time in history.
---President Obama sets forth his "extended hand" approach to the Iranians. All they have to do is unclench their fists.
---President Obama visits European cities in his famous "Apology Tour of 2009."
May
---Turkey approaches Syria with the thought of re-establishing relations that were broken off in 1982 Lebanese war.
June
---President Obama speaks to the Egyptian Congress in Cairo on June 4th. In his speech he declares the Koran as HOLY, uses the Book of Usuphala out of context (parts of verses 32-34, which calls for the punishment of any Muslim who helps a Jew), and declares the the US must see to an end of Palestinian suffering. He went on to state that the USA is not a Christian country and that it is the largest, non-Middle Eastern Muslim nation on earth. (It is not even in the top 20...Indonesia is the larges Muslim nation in the world.)
---After the President's tour and speech, Turkey begins to hint at a turn away from its western and pro-Israeli stance. (I began calling readers to watch Turkey very closely.)
---Iran holds a fraud laden election in which Mamoud Ahmadinijad is declared the victor. Protesters hit the streets, but no word of support came from the lips of the President of the United States. What a shame!
July
---Tunnels from Egyptian territory in the Negev and into the Gaza Strip are discovered. It is estimated that 40,000 Kazim and Kytusha rockets had already poured into the hands of Hamas.
Egypt makes a half-hearted attempt to close the border and bury the tunnels.
September
--- President Obama speaks at the United Nations. In his speech he called for the dividing of Jerusalem into two capitals, the recognition of a State of Palestine with contiguous borders, the end of the Palestinian "HOLOCAUST," and a complete stoppage of all Jewish settlements (the whole country, not just the West Bank.). I marked September 23rd as the day America betrayed and rejected Israel...the day of God's curse.
---The Goldstone Report is presented to the United Nations Human Rights Council and Israel is soundly condemned. Turkish Prime Minister calls for the United Nations to unrecognize Israel as a nation.
October
---Turkey bans Israel from a scheduled combined air forces exercise. Italy and America pull out of the same exercise in protest.
---Turkish and Syrian air forces complete the aerial exercise instead. Two days later, diplomatic relations with Syria are fully restored, Embassies are reopened, and a mutual defense treaty is signed.
---Turkish Prime Minister shows up in Iran with Mamoud Ahmadinijad in order to restore relations with Iran, relations that had been broken since the 1979 Islamic uprising that sent Jimmy Carter to his demise.
---Mutual defense and cooperation treaty is signed by Turkey, Iran, and Syria.
November
---Turkey pledges to surround Israel with an "electronic" hedge in order to detect any Israeli attack on Iran. Turkey would serve as Iran's first alert system.
---Lebanese Military receives $500 million dollars from the US to rebuild its military, and then promptly declares that there is now no separation between the Lebanese army and the Hezbollah. In other words, Barack Obama just equipped Hezbollah for war.
---Egypt exchanges diplomats with Saudi Arabia for the first time since the 1978 Camp David Accords when Egypt and Israel signed a mutual non-aggression pact.
December
---Iran successfully detonates a simulated atomic device.
---Iran successfully launches its best intercontinental missile yet at approximately the same time Barack Obama was receiving his Nobel Peace Prize.
---Egypt and Saudi Arabia prepare a UN Security Council Resolution that calls for the dividing of Jerusalem into two capitals, one Jewish, one Palestinian.
---Russia hosts summit in Saudi Arabia to re-establish its place as the broker of Middle East peace. Nations attending were Saudi Arabia, Iran, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, and the Sudan.
---Barack Obama's third deadline for Iran to stop its nuclear development and come to the table to talk passes on December 31st. Iran responded again by stating it would not give up its nuclear aims, no matter what sanctions might be put in place
These, and numerous other events occurred in 2009.....all seemingly taking us in the direction of WAR. Yes, I said WAR. In all likelihood, we are going to see war in the Middle East in 2010, probably sooner than later. The result of that war is made clear in scripture. It will end the existence of Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, the Gaza Strip, and quite probably Egypt and Saudi Arabia. It is prophesied in Psalm 83, Ezekiel 25, Jeremiah 12, Joel 3, and Isaiah 17. Israel will expand to control territory not held since the days of King Solomon. The whole world will begin to understand that Allah is false and Jehovah is true. Worldwide evangelism will take on a "harvest-fervency," and the coalition of Ezekiel 38 and 39 will solidify and prepare. WOW
Will the Rapture occur soon? I hope so, but if it doesn't, our call is to be about our Father's business of sharing the good news of Christ and living for the Kingdom. And remember,
"For you shall not go out in haste, and you shall not go in flight, for the Lord will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard." Isaiah 52:12

2010 looks like the very best year to be alive in Christ. Sign on if you haven't done so already.
